Thunderbird Club

It's one of those basses you have to play to appreciate. It's not like any other Fender I've ever played, much more EB/SG sounding with the neck pup soloed except on steroids, truly wall shaking. But dial in the bridge pup and it starts to take on a Bird angry piano personality. The two pups combined create a massive wall of bass tones that are a force to be reckoned with.

Fender discontinued the bass after about a two year run several years ago. They are getting harder to find. Like I said, it's the perfect back up bass to a TBird or an SG/EB. Does everything from Reggae to Rock and Country Western very well.
I love playing my '67 NR whenever I can but b/c some of our venues are really tight I needed a short scale. I couldn't find an Epi EB-0 that I liked so I wound up with a 5quier VM Jag SS. I've been pleasantly surprised by the tone it gets. It helped when I put the bridge cover on it:smug:

Love my Jag SS as well. I dropped a custom designed East preamp in it which really ups the game. My only complaint is the somewhat anemic bridge Jazz pup, but that split p is to die for. There's a quick fix for the bridge pup but I haven't bothered since I usually solo the neck pup. Here she is with a couple of other Fender mods I've done...

@veebass is a Telecaster fan. Not sure on that specific model though.

So I've been pondering how to move gear. In my last band I had access to both a full sized had truck and a dolly to move cabs. Now I have less space for transport, so I'm pondering other ways to move stuff that doesn't take up a ton of room. Any ideas?
What exactly do you mean by less space... for keeping a hand truck and a dolly?
I percieve you have the same gear...
I have made wood wedges and glued/screwed them onto the bottom edge of a large cab, and then screwed non-swivel casters to the wedges. The casters will touch ground and lift the cab when I lean it back a bit, and voila- we're rolling. I added maybe a strap handle to the same side for an easy "tilt- back" situation. Don't have a photo, but point being that I eliminated need for another device...

How 'bout this? Made by Ozark Trail, $59 @ WalMart. Be sure to get the one w/ wide wheels.0909181105-00.jpg 0909181104-00.jpg Folds up for ez transport:thumbsup:

A small trucks if the cabs don’t have wheels. And if they don’t have handles, sooner or later you may need a dolly for steps.

I put Dr Scholl’s gel soles in the Vans. Perfection.
I get them a half size larger for this; otherwise they're too tight. The upsize works great for me, because I have wide feet, and Vans aren't really made for wide feet.

I have gone the gel sole route as well. The half size up is a great idea!!

I’m bummed they stopped making the All-Star II’s, the look was weird cause there wasn’t much contrasting stuff, BUT they have a real tongue, a sewn on patch, and real support... but people didn’t like proper footwear made by Converse :rollno:

I'm surprised the AS II's didn't sell better. It was a nice upgrade for not much $$ difference.

Cause people don’t like change.
I hope they bring them back, this time with proper secondary colours, like white threads.

Go modular with 210AVs. (I only have two myself) I don’t need a dolly because the are only 26lbs each:
