Thunderbird Club

Just got home from the road...played Chicago last night until 2am, got up at 5:30am to make a noon festival in St. Louis, played 3.5 hours, then drove back to Nashville. Feeling pretty wobbly at the moment :)

On another note...the fan that gave me the Ric 4003 has been asking a lot of weird questions about basses...uprights, electrics, etc. I didn’t think anything of it until his wife spilled the beans that he intends to buy me another bass for when we play her birthday party in December. Not sure what to do there as they’ve been too generous already. Apparently, if I don’t tell him any different, he’s going to get me an EB 3. As far as I know, I’m not a huge fan of those, but I feel funny handing out a list of something I would want, not that I’m even sure what that would be at the moment :/

You could mention that 67(?) TBird II NR in Spain for $8500.:smug:<Edit> Or maybe a nice double bass with a 'C' foot.

Greco Thunderbird II...……

My weekend trip wasn't quite the epic yours was, but I'm trashed. Crowd was really fun, place was very hot and a bit humid inside, I'd have left on a stretcher if it had been summer time! Really glad to be home tonight.

This bass keeps dropping in price... down, down, down. Maybe next time you don't paint your bass pink burst. 45 minutes from my house. I know there's a collectible pink burst that the Epiphone Custom Shop made for charity that is pretty sweet but this guy had to know that painting it this way made his bass less sellable. I guess if my daughter played bass and wanted it, I'd get it for her but I see few reasons a guy would want this bass.

Of course October is breast cancer awareness month and that would be cool for a musician to rock shows with this month.

You couldn't say nobody noticed the bass player.:rollno:

Nice but seems a bit odd. Maybe ask them to donate to a charity you like? That is what I used to do when I worked a job where people tried to give me stuff expensive stuff fairly regularly.

Of course it's not available. There is a wide trail of dead products that worked for Thunderbirds, stretching over multiple decades. Clearly a serial killer is at work. What evil mastermind is behind these nefarious murders?
I think his name is Leo something or another.

I think that's way too great for words! Thumb in the eye of preconceptions.

Next time your buddy asks about basses just tell him that the best bang for the buck deal out there right now on new basses is the Epiphone Thunderbird VP. The lighter the better and the (whatever color you don't have yet) is the most desirable one to get.
