Thunderbird Club

Interesting read. I remember going to see Ozzy when the PMRC was in the news and he was not in any shape to wield evil of any kind upon the world, even if he wanted to.
Being in a hardcore punk band I wrote a song called “What about the KKK?”
The real evil was elsewhere then as now.

Just in time for the annual Banjo, Shotgun and Trailer Fest here in Foster-Glocester! Boy, howdy!

So, which of these fine instruments are you connecting to this here speaker box?:roflmao:

So I've been pondering how to move gear. In my last band I had access to both a full sized had truck and a dolly to move cabs. Now I have less space for transport, so I'm pondering other ways to move stuff that doesn't take up a ton of room. Any ideas?

Get a gym membership, and after a few weeks, offer pizza to the regulars as a contest to see who can load your gear into your car/truck/UFO fastest?

He was on the record with No More Tears...

How in the world did they do that? Getting him on there - wouldn't it be uncomfortable? Not to mention the needle scraping him every time it was played...

I also hoped it would fix the neck dive, but sadly, no major difference in the balance of the bass.

That's not 'neck dive' though. It's a T-Bird feature called gravity-assisted vertical shifting. Gibson has found many ways to offer ever-increasing amounts of this, but removing it would render the bass a non-Bird and ruin it.

I can't imagine... living 1/2 block from the Pacific Ocean in the event of a possible earthquake triggered tsunami... definitely my '64 T-bird, '66 P-bass and my '75 Ampeg B-15. (and as many other basses as I could throw in the Element) and "head for the hills", which are relatively close - would be my goal.

I am fortunate that the nearest hills are between the ocean and I. If a wave's big enough to get to me, we ALL got problems (but a 'Bird ain't one of 'em).

It’s technically a flanger and it can certainly do cool flanging stuff, but has a lot of ring mod type capabilities as well. I’m mostly using it as an stereo effect for my samplers. There’s an insane amount of usable sounds in this thing. Ironically, I don’t use effects for most of my gigs, so my pedalboard is more for writing my weird solo bass crap, but if you think you might be in need of something that does modulation (chorus, phase, flange), I’ve never heard a pedal that comes close to this. I like it a whole lot :)

I want the Pyramids. Looks and sounds awesome. I currently run a BOSS BF-2 for flange (and chorus tones) but also have a dedicated BOSS CE-5 for Chorus: it sounds great with dirt.

However, I did immediately but the new Earthquaker Aqueduct (vibrato) pedal the da after it came out and oh boy, what a ride!!

I finally tried Bass Burners. They are on the 2015. I can see why Kat likes them so much. That's an expressive bass to begin with, and those are expressive strings. I was getting everything from a shiny metallic blue-green scoop to a big, fat, fuzzy maroon sound, depending on touch, finger location between neck and bridge, and some knob twiddling. The mild dead spot on the G string at about the fifth fret is still there, but less pronounced with those strings. Maybe that spot on the neck is the bass' way of telling me it wants new strings, because it is minimal with new strings and eventually comes back. I'll know in a month or two.

I’m not one to have the same strings on all my basses, but KS strings are by far my favourite. Only problem is BSO is currently closed and I couldn’t find the gauge I wanted that also had free shipping.

Aren't those TBird1958's favorite strings as well?..
