Where do yo work?

I just got a job with a company who has a contract with Amazon. So I will be working on the Amazon campus, starting next week. Goodbye Port Angeles!

Seattle Lighting, it's right there in that shot. Amazon is South Lake Union?
Sorry you're leaving PA, I'd love to retire there - beautiful little town!

ok, since we're all fessing up..

I love Ashdown amps - at least based on this one I had for a short time while it was working. It was a 550 Spyder - a 'floor model' (from Canada) Creamy tone, ease of dialing... but then it died during a gig. (not...good) Just unloaded it. Haven't seen another like it since. I'd love to own one that worked - but water under the bridge. (old pic - not the way I order my FX train these days...)

Good luck with yours - they sound great!

thanks. not my first Klystron, as you say, really cool preamps. i kinda put them in the TE category as far as Lucas factor goes..

Anybody have any clue why my E would just tighten/reduce vibrating radius...it’s so weird....most obvious difference is the winding that doubles up from the string end back up towards the other end. Instead of being behind the bridge saddle some of it is on the other side toward the pick up. It cant possibly vibrate the same way. Am I missing something else?

Sooooooooooo...... super curious.... 3 likes.... it’s a statement question...more of a question... not sure what’s likeable but any ideas would be very liked. Lol

Beautiful area and I really love being in those mountains but-----no society. Nothing happening. I'm too young for that $#!%

I'm moving tomorrow and already have a date for tomorrow night. In PA, it's been two years since a girl didn't ghost, no show, or cancel day of. I'm so tired.

Yes, Amazon campus is south lake union. I'm staying in Lynnwood, for now. Hope to move further south in a few months.

Party on Wayne!

What are you confused about? What I’m describing? Imagine your e string has a circular radius within which it’s vibrating.... nice low end....bassy, loose... loud.... bright....then you tune it it up a bit back to pitch for E. as soon as you do that radius tightens in vibrates in a smaller circle.... less low end not as bassy, not loose...noticeably tighter... not as loud and dead...it vibrates in such tight circles quietly after the initially pluck or pick.... Thant you’re not sure it’s still sounding.... until you touch it... and it actually stops... it’s like there is a very aggressive compressor effecting your sound but it’s the string.... for the first time I notice the string winding is ahead or in front of the bridge saddle not behind. Must change tone but it it’s enough ahead that it was never behind you know? The tuning didn’t change that. Just weird wondering if any9ne else knows. They’re extra slinky’s but all of a sudden the e doesn’t feel so slinky.

Can you see it? It’s a bad pic

They're available from Allparts, cost about 5 times what those giant ones do. I use them on Cataldos, as well as the proper size ring screws. #2 CS flat head flush Phillips if anyone cares.

Nickel Soap Bar Pickup Mounting Screws | Allparts.com

Countersunk oval heads and they don't strip out. Or tear up fingers.

Unfortunately the cans on those ChinaBuckers have small screw holes, so if you want them to sit flush you have to countersink the holes. Original Gibsons have .125 dia holes.

Steve has discontinued using them on aftermarket ThunderBuckers mainly because no other TBird style sellers use them. Email him and tell him about it.

Well, I finally swapped the stock scratching screws with some left from a SPB-1 pickup. Lower profile head and absolutely non-scratching. There are a less brighter than the stock ones but they fit and look fine. Thanks so much to make me find the path

It is just flat bizarre. Maybe the string is a dead string, maybe it got twisted somehow. I don't see how it could be anything but a problem with that specific string itself. It looks like it is seated right.
