They're too cool for that list.I didn't see Mark or Veronica on the list. Those are glaring omissions.

Entwistle was playing FenderBirds and ExplorerBirds, not Gibson Thunderbirds, on Quadrophenia/Who by Numbers. Custom bodies with maple Precision bolt on necks. Proving it's mostly about the pickups...and the player.
Did the Bart’s drop right in or was routing necessary? thxMy Epiphone Goth has been modded with all new electronics, but in its original state it was much more mid focused than the others. Not much grit or grind, plenty of bottom end and adequate top end. Stock it didn't sound as close to the traditional TBird sound as I was anticipating, might be because of the different pups and maple bolt on neck.
NYE was the first gig past midnight in 2 years. (Our NYE gig 2017 was cx'ed.)The perfect gigs!
No, but since I still have the bill of sale, which I just looked at, $396.76, on 6/5/70. List was $545.do you remember what you paid for it?
I used EMG shaped Barts and they were just a hair larger than drop in. Had to use a very sharp chisel to shave about 1/16" of wood out of the stock route at the north and south ends of the hole, east/west direction was more than long enough for the Bart's.Did the Bart’s drop right in or was routing necessary? thx
W O W!!No, but since I still have the bill of sale, which I just looked at, $396.76, on 6/5/70. List was $545.
So, that was like a million dollars back then. Expensive! Maybe I should go out and by a $10k one and consider it a bargain. No, but since I still have the bill of sale, which I just looked at, $396.76, on 6/5/70. List was $545.
Hmm, let's see. $396.76 divided by 48.5 years=$8.18/year. Not bad.So, that was like a million dollars back then. Expensive! Maybe I should go out and by a $10k one and consider it a bargain.![]()
is it still all stock? Any repairs?Hmm, let's see. $396.76 divided by 48.5 years=$8.18/year. Not bad.![]()
Shortly after I got it, it quit mid performance. Took it back to the shop. The owner took the back off(lotta screws). A wire had come un-soldered. He re-soldered it. Only repair ever. I admit it hasn't been getting much use lately, but for about 10 years it was being played through 6 nights/week for the season on Hallandale Beach at "The Sun Spa" hotel. If I was gonna use it, I'd look into replacing the 2 15s-maybe. If I eq the bass @ noon, it doesn't fart. Again, the stuff I mentioned that's on YT, I was playing that Epi EB-3L on 'Mudbucker' only.is it still all stock? Any repairs?
I won't bother with figuring out the yearly cost of my EB-2. It would be well under a quarter penny.Hmm, let's see. $396.76 divided by 48.5 years=$8.18/year. Not bad.![]()
better than that.....more like 2.50/yr...Hmm, let's see. $396.76 divided by 48.5 years=$8.18/year. Not bad.![]()
Yup! Same as mine. I've never opened it up to look at the speakers but they're whatever they put in at the factory.better than that.....more like 2.50/yr...
Kustom Kasino K-252 Bass Amp Vintage • $275.00
Those figures were for my Kasino bass amp. I paid $250. for the 67 TBird in 72 or 73(?) but it's had repairs costing more than the purchase price. Still worth it, though.I won't bother with figuring out the yearly cost of my EB-2. It would be well under a quarter penny.
It's interesting when people make up a backstory for their sales....
Gibson Thunderbird Bass 2003 ONE OF A KIND! Must Read!
Yeah, it's been for sale for some time. No one is buying this seller's B.S. storyI'm pretty sure that bass has been up for sale before -- at least the story is familiar.
Shoulda sold it for 10k back then. It's interesting when people make up a backstory for their sales....
