Thunderbird Club

My Epiphone Goth has been modded with all new electronics, but in its original state it was much more mid focused than the others. Not much grit or grind, plenty of bottom end and adequate top end. Stock it didn't sound as close to the traditional TBird sound as I was anticipating, might be because of the different pups and maple bolt on neck.
Did the Bart’s drop right in or was routing necessary? thx

I used EMG shaped Barts and they were just a hair larger than drop in. Had to use a very sharp chisel to shave about 1/16" of wood out of the stock route at the north and south ends of the hole, east/west direction was more than long enough for the Bart's.

is it still all stock? Any repairs?
Shortly after I got it, it quit mid performance. Took it back to the shop. The owner took the back off(lotta screws). A wire had come un-soldered. He re-soldered it. Only repair ever. I admit it hasn't been getting much use lately, but for about 10 years it was being played through 6 nights/week for the season on Hallandale Beach at "The Sun Spa" hotel. If I was gonna use it, I'd look into replacing the 2 15s-maybe. If I eq the bass @ noon, it doesn't fart. Again, the stuff I mentioned that's on YT, I was playing that Epi EB-3L on 'Mudbucker' only.

I won't bother with figuring out the yearly cost of my EB-2. It would be well under a quarter penny.
Those figures were for my Kasino bass amp. I paid $250. for the 67 TBird in 72 or 73(?) but it's had repairs costing more than the purchase price. Still worth it, though.
