Your 301 might be. My 360 is heavier than an 810. I would still rather move it than a 410. I had a 408 cabinet that had four 15s, two front firing and two firing at each other in a slot in the middle. It was another amazing ACC cabinet, and it was even bigger, physically, than the 360. It didn't weigh nearly as much, but it was still well over 100 lbs. I think they are pretty straight forward to move. It takes effort and technique, but it's all geometry, not back pain, like the kind that a 410 inflicts. I like 410 cabinets even less than I like tort. Think about that for a moment!

No, it probably never ends. But that's a shame. It's why I like having more than one iron in the fire all the time. If one band fizzles, I get a fix in another way. Playing is my drug of choice.

I'm pretty sure he used Tapes on the song Come Together. Probably Rotos, but I like La Bella's much better. Mind the string Gage's in regards to your nut grooves. I've had good luck using a medium set, pretty much fits the grooves just fine. A regular set would probably require some nut work.

I may be risking the ire of @Dadagoboi, but I'm seriously considering putting a J neck on the JAEbird. It's quite comfortable to play sitting, but standing up is a different matter.

I put the Roto tapes on my chinese Hofner Cavern and they worked pretty well. Then I ended up selling it to fund my Casady and haven’t looked back.

I heard back from Andy at Bad Mojo. He's just now getting started on the Pinkbird. He had some questions about a couple of pretty deep gouges in the headstock and whether I wanted those filled in or not. I figured they would just be weird looking until I banged the headstock on a cymbal or something again. He's going to fill them, which will look much better once the paint is on. Small dents and gouges don't faze me a bit. I like pristine well enough, but it's going to get played a lot, and it will get small scars no matter how careful I am.

I don't think he had met a 'Bird up close before. He said it made him want one because it was so light and well balanced. He had no idea of that before. The gospel of 'Bird is spreading, one little bit at a time.

So, I'm guessing it will probably be April before I get it back, which is fine. Well, not really because I want a Burgundy Mist Thunderbird, but April is far better than never.

I'm like, whatever the hell he played on Magical Mystery Tour, bass and strings, (and that's a whole nother ball of wax i suppose), is one of my fav PM tones and playing. Besides the fantastic recording.............

A Fender neck is a Fender neck, width and shape aside. If it bolts right up, it's fair game.

Hi all. I dropped my TC BH800 amp (it was in its padded travel bag) and when I got home I noticed something sliding around inside. After some heavy drinking this afternoon I decided to open it up. I found what is pictured below, obviously a clip to something but I just can’t seem to figure out where it came from. Anyone know what this might be? Thanks

How to finish it, that would be the question. Presumably tung oil or similar would be the simplest.

Probably feel best, too. I typically use tung oil by scrubbing it into the wood using a Scotchbrite pad. Then sand it lightly after it cures and scrub in more oil. Do that a few times and it polishes off the grain when it raises. It might be overkill. It works well for furniture.

He always sounds about the same no matter what anyway. It didn't matter what he played, he sounded like McCartney.

Then she gets gouged by the Oz import police. Plus, it would be priced in Oz drachimas, not US pesos. That makes it even worse. There's got to be a decent used Fender neck already floating around Australia somewhere that would work.

I just did some searching, and according to Rotosound's page, he used their RS88 Black Nylon strings at least at the end of the 60s during the recording of Abbey Road and Let it Be.
