Thunderbird Club

Well, not exactly.

The apple may not be used as described, depending upon the specific apple. As an example, Honeycrisp apples have been patented by the University of Minnesota and the name trademarked. Although the patent has expired in the US, the trademark remain in force. Further the tree is sterile. To produce apples, the blossoms must be pollinated by other apple trees. The fruit will be Honeycrisp apples, but the seeds will produce a hybrid. So, you can't grow Honeycrisp apple trees without dealing with UMn.

With your Apple phone, you will have difficulty disassembling it as it is put together with a proprietary screw and you will be unable to buy a screw driver to open it. But, ignoring that, you have a "right to repair" in the US (at last I saw the court decisions). So you could reverse engineer it. You could even build more as long as you are not selling them (assuming that the parts are commercially available or that you are able to fabricate them yourself). The part you will have difficulty with is the software that runs the phone, as you do not own that; you acquire a license to use it on the hardware when you buy the phone.

I like the analogy, but unfortunately it doesn't work on either side. Products are far more complicated than they used to be.
Agreed the analogy doesn’t really hold a lot of water, but it was given as part of an explanation of why Far East cultures don’t understand the concept of Intellectual Property rights when it comes to hardware.

What have we become here? Is it not ThunderBird Thursday?
With all due respect.

I have a 2 channel interface. 2 x LDC in mid/side config will have to do for drums.

As I get to know you better...can’t say I believe this. Gonna need more kick and snare. Cheap and easy and you won’t settle for less. Just ‘IMO’

Fire witch? This is all I got...

I kinda like it :)

Just played a 2018 thunderbird that came stock with babicz bridge.... the neck on this one was not as wide from side to side and thinner from front to back... felt more like my Blackbird than some of the thunderbirds I’ve tried in stores. Really nice. I was suprised. Volume, projection...notes just flew off the fretboard

If only it was gold or had inlays.... amazing though.

I want to pop the babicz on the Blackbird for the obvious reasons and the last set of strings I put on it had the winding at the bottom slip past the saddle....which seemed to deaden tone yes I could move the saddle but it would mess with my intonation....

Will the babicz bridge get In The way of the optic grab? Not like Ive ever used it.
