Thunderbird Club

They were recommended on good authority from a member of the collective.
Had them in a J i once had.
And they kick @$$. I'd get them over the Lollars. Not knockin the Lollars at all, but they were to old school for me.

Uh oh, there's a disturbance in the force.

C# double stop? playing Steely Dan?..

I know it's not a 'Bird, or a Gibson, but my beloved Precision was stolen out of my car in front of my house today. Been spamming everywhere I can think of, filed reports, contacted pawn shops and music stores. I can only hope it finds its way back one day. I must give a shout out to Guitar Center, who were able to comb thier system to find the original record of purchase all the way back in '07 and get me the serial number, and flag it nationwide in their stores as stolen.

So sorry to hear that. I hope it finds its way home!

As long as we are brassing...

The fact that so much Sabbath works well with brass, I believe, supports my thesis that whereas other heavy music of the late 60s and 70s (Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple etc.) was blues based, Black Sabbath was much more jazz based.

LOVE Brown Sabbath. They played one of our happy hours a couple of years back. (Cirrus rocks.) You could be right. If so, Cream should work great with brass. And Purple was all over the map.

terrible...sorry..

Ok, so my ‘Bird is working out super well. It takes to dirt really well, and yet the clean sound is very distinct from the dirty. One misgiving though, is that I don’t love the look of the white pickguard on that lovely mahogany. I’m thinking about a new one, either a brass/bronze/copper sort of look or maybe something transparent or translucent. Anybody got any suggestions?

I had a rusty metal guard that I bought here on TB a couple years ago. I installed it on an Epi Bird I used to own. Looked really cool in person. Something like that might work for you?

Good luck on its return unharmed.

With respect to Notre Dame, for what it's worth:

Mostly true from what I can tell (having read numerous recent reports), but a bit over-stated. It's unclear whether any art was destroyed, and there are almost certainly some damaged works. I'm not sure if they have inventoried the "sacred objects". The towers have not fallen. The spire was relatively new, FWIW. Older than any of us or any electric bass, for sure.
