Looks like fun...

The pic is real... way too real.

Sharks explore things by biting them. Even if the shark decides it isn't interested, it is going to be a really bad day.

I'm using one of these
th

for phone, car key, ID, energy bar (just in case), and for headphones while in the marina. I wait until I am in open water to put in headphones and take them out to go into the marina. Just seems prudent given a smaller area and more traffic.
I use a dry bag for my anchor rope, towels, and other sundries. If I'm in more than 1'- 1.5' waves, I'll also throw my speaker in there, just in case ;)

?....
I keep my phone, license & truck key in one of these. I can still use the touch screen, etc. on my phone through the plastic and I don't have to worry about stuff getting wet or lost if I get sprayed or capsize.

Looks a lot like this...

Which is exactly what I'd need if I was kayaking in the ocean and saw this...

I agree about gimmicks, but DEVO was/is a lot deeper than the goofy hats. If you read their lyrics, you’ll find serious commentary on consumerism, conformity and blind acceptance of governmental/corporate messaging.
They made me think:yawn:

And that's definitely a good thing. Not enough logical thinking in my book these days. I just couldn't get past the antics to the think part! That, and I wasn't going to take advice from someone with a flowerpot on their head!:D (I say that in fun and not sarcasm. It was just too obvious to not mention!) Which points out the value of artists actually saying something important if they go beyond the pure entertainment aspect. Art is an important medium, and one not to be squandered.

I think I'm pretty lucky to get to do this, it won't last forever so I cherish it all the more lately.

That's that great thing about music. It can provide a sense and certain kind of joy that only playing music can give! There are many important joys in life. Most a lot more important that music--but the joy that music brings and delivers is truly special. Every time I can play I am very grateful. I too, know one day it will come to an end.

Keep at it!
