One of my fantasies if I ever have the time again is to build an amp with lots of 12AU7s in the output. One design I considered involved 8 sets of 8 tubes (4 PP pairs). Each set would drive it's own OT. You *could* parallel them all for the right load, or you could run each one individually into one of the speakers in, say, an 8x10.

Yes, you'd want custom OTs, but that's true no matter what.
Then again, I also want to build an amp with 4 pair of 6V6s in PP. Think Fender Deluxe output section but x4.
For bass? Something with just a pair of outrageous tubes never meant for audio. Or 8 sets of 4 6BQ5s or 6V6s. 480 to 700 watts.
The problem, of course, is that if much of anything fails in the output section, you have the potential for a catastrophic meltdown. Which, so long as you have a reliable backup, makes for a great-if expensive- show.

You ain't seen clams until you've seen a Geoduck!

I won't post any pictures or links for fear of being banned (google it on your own) but it's a legit clam residing in the Washington State area among other Pacific Northwest areas. Biggest darn beach clam I've ever seen. It would be hard to look at while eating whole, but cut up and cooked they're just fine. One clam will make a large pot of clam chowder.

Speaking of Washington state, that's where our Queen and a couple of clan members reside. Any of you Washington THUNDERBIRD members ever been on a Geoduck dig? It can be a heck of a workout.

Those are some wonderfully insane design specs. Now you have me thinking about making a few different amps. 3-5 pairs of 6V6 could be great. If you are using 6V6 or 12AU7 in a PP configuration, I think you should be able to work with OTS (Off The Shelf) OTs.

I don't know if you can find an 810 with 8 separate inputs, but you can always wire one up yourself. A stack of 15s with each 15 being run through it's own power section (12AU7 and OT)could be great as well. Imagine the conversation.

TB Gen Pop - I bought a GK head and cab so that I can bi-amp.

For quick idea catching, I use the Voice Memo app too! It's perfect for capturing surprisingly good sound from an acoustic!

Vintage T-Bird guy, eight years touring with a Polaris White '66 NR with at first an SVT and then an Acoustic 371 setup back in the 70's. Lotsa cool pix to share. And tales from an old touring pro. I picked this up for a decent price last night. First time as a GK owner so I need to get familiar with it. For those of you that have used the 700RB for your Birds, any tips on what settings you preferred?

I figured out the problem. It was a simple Moron issue.
The inputs are VERY stiff and I didn't get the jack in all the way.

Nice set list! Bit of something for almost everyone. Do you have a vid of you doing Hey Jealousy? Love that song.

Here is a little video of last nights gig. It was a stationary Tascam type device, so the sound isn't the best. We also need to work on our FOH mix sound but you can certainly hear the Tbird in the mix...

you’d be surprised how many folks want their stuff fixed even if the cost of the repair goes for twice or more than the Reverb rates..

As one of those folks - it sometimes comes down to getting attached with whatever is being repaired and once repaired you are happy! Of course researching it (whatever it is) and finding that it is rare is incentive beyond liking it for the reasons you liked it before it was needing repair.
I am thankful to CS for giving my beloved (somewhat rare) amp a second life!
