Thunderbird Club

A view from the stage last night.
Karen plays trumpet, keys, percussion and sings backups. Sometimes two of the above at the same time.
She also has a Masters degree in music theory, so we tend to defer to her judgement when working out harmonies.

I get it, I love cars as much as the next guy and there are plenty of places to talk about them. BUT, there is only one GREAT place to talk about Thunderbird basses, and that's here, in this thread and I don't want the thread getting locked again... or worse... shut down because of something silly like AMX cars in a Thunderbird bass thread... on a bass site
and even more rare; only one GREAT place to talk about AMX cars to Thunderbird bass owners...:D

Good day for football! My team (Oakland Raiders) squeaked out a win over the Bears in the final minute of the game held in London. Couldn't believe how into the game the London fans were, most were supporting Chicago but the 60,000 person stadium was rockin! Then got to see the final few minutes of a blow out Rugby World Cup game between NZ and Nambia in Japan where the All Blacks made a picture perfect textbook drive on their final score.

Are there any professional sports teams sporting the THUNDERBIRD name?
Growing up we had the LA Thunderbirds roller derby team. Wouldn’t call that a sports team though, more like choreographed pretend mayhem.

Kinda hate finding out this way, but it's not like we were old pals. He was one of that old guard that got me on my way though.
Every few weeks it becomes clearer that some of us should turn it up and not let it get quiet...
As another member of the old guard put it Rust Never Sleeps. “It’s better to burn out than to fade away.”

Indeed.

When I graduated from University (the first time) I bought myself a new car. A THUNDERBIRD SC. Just like this one.

Darn people with talent! I like the headstock in that picture a lot.

The case I was building for my brother is done. I should have taken pictures before he filled it up. But, too late.

Link Removed might know what all that stuff does. I sure don't. He says he will probably want another case pretty soon. It doesn't have a jack to plug in a Thunderbird, so I don't see the point, but what do I know?

It folds shut and latches so he can carry it around by its handle. It has a piano hinge on the back and floor tom brackets and legs so he can prop it open. It weighs enough that I'm a little skeptical of the handle he picked out. You can't see the blue laminate, but I think there were pictures of that a while ago. He wants some modifications, but I suspect that it is now just going to be used. Meaning I won't see it again unless I'm at his house or somewhere he's making noise.

Ya Chicago should have won that game, handed it to you guys in the last minute.

Any T-Bird brothers using a Line 6 G 30 wireless?
My old Shure unit has been experiencing cut out at short distances.Looks like its time for an upgrade.
Yes. I have two of them. I like them. But I’m not playing out these days. You will need a neoprene pouch for the transmitter though. Battery door is chintzy. I wander all over the house and enjoy them with no perceptible latency to my ears.
