I was in Watsonville at the time the epicenter was 2 miles from me and the quake picked up my mobile home and threw it two feet into the driveway. It just missed hitting the 70’ Charger. We ended up BBQing every night. The first thing we had to do was go help everybody else in the park to turn their gas off.yes, one road in (Hwy 9) one road out...bunch of fallen redwoods blocking passage...remarkable how folks pulled together..."trade you a PBJ for a shower" sorta thing....pretty cool..
I feel ya on that one but.....Old Ford and new Ford are two completely different animals. I had a 62 Falcon that just kept going never had a problem. Oh and a 72 F150 that I tried to kill but it just kept going as well.Love the design. But it’s a Ford. I’ve had one Ford. A Lincoln Navigator. Worst POS ever. Never ever again. I’d rather have an AMC.
Wow, knew it wouldn't be too much longer after Jack passed, a while back I was "privelidged" to see Jack's "Never Surrender" tour @ this little dive called "Biddy Mulligan's" in the North Chicago areaKinda hate finding out this way, but it's not like we were old pals. He was one of that old guard that got me on my way though.
Every few weeks it becomes clearer that some of us should turn it up and not let it get quiet...
Said no Prisoner ever.Man I miss the Village!
Here's a photo of what I'm talking about -So serious question time -
I've got a Goth Tbird that has some nicks around the edges. What would you guys recommend as the best plan to touch up the nicks without a full on refinish? The biggest thing is that semi-matte finish. I'm thinking fingernail polish, thoughts?
The Bear's "squeaked" by ??? I turned it off about the 2 minute warning in the first half right after Daniels got sacked, couldn't watch it anymore being "Da Bear's" were getting their "Asses Handed To Them" figured time would be better spent with my "Bird"Seattle's Western Hockey League team is the Thunderbirds![]()
Can you get matte black fingernail polish? Or maybe automotive touch up paint? Here's a photo of what I'm talking about -

Just a few tiny nicks around the edges. I bought it that way.
Sorry, I meant the "Raiders" squeaked by a win?? Although still a bigger fan of "Da Bird" she ALWAYS Wins!!The Bear's "squeaked" by ??? I suppose I should have endured a little more pain to see the comeback although @ the end of the day I'm a Bigger fan of "Da Bird" than "Da Bear's" LOL..
I'm not sure. I think I've seen matte black fingernail polish, just can't recall. At least it's the right time of year if it does exist. Can you get matte black fingernail polish? Or maybe automotive touch up paint?
Personally I would just take a sharpie to the light spots so they don’t stand out, but I’ve never touched up a ding any of my basses.

As for teh sharpie, I'm worried it'll be too glossy and stand out just as bad.
Nothing serious, I hope.
Carmel...the Beach Club..Which wharf is that? Somewhere in Monterey is my only guess?
No, from distance the Sharpie will disappear. It'll also soak into exposed wood grain, no shine.I'm not sure. I think I've seen matte black fingernail polish, just can't recall. At least it's the right time of year if it does exist.

I don't think any of the nicks have exposed wood. Looks like these Goth birds have a white base coat and then the matte black top coat. All of the nicks are only the matte black top coat and they all expose the white base coat. Apparently that white base coat is much tougher than the matte black top coat. No, from distance the Sharpie will disappear. It'll also soak into exposed wood grain, no shine.
Do we really want pics from Pillo? Pillo walks into a bar. Even Kat walks out!Pics ... or it didn't happen.

I had a '72 Ford station wagon with the fake wood on the sides. It was a land yacht and was unstoppable. My parents got a '78 Ford station wagon brand new. It was one of the smaller, square ones which have a name that has disappeared from my memory. Good thing, too. All kinds of things that shouldn't break managed to break at bad times on that car. They didn't keep it long. After that, it was up until last October before I had another Ford. Not because I expected them to be anything like the lemon '78, but because it just worked out that way. I have a 2010 Transit Connect now. It's got minimal mileage on it, so it should last a long time. If it doesn't, I'll be back to something else.I feel ya on that one but.....Old Ford and new Ford are two completely different animals. I had a 62 Falcon that just kept going never had a problem. I used a Sharpie to de-relic my P-Bass that came from the factory as Road Worn. It looked a little weird, and it hasn't held up, but that was a big Sharpie ink patch. I have also used a Sharpie to minimize the fret markers on a de-fretted bass fingerboard. The good thing about Sharpie ink is that it doesn't seem to have any kind of reaction to other finishes and won't stop you from refinishing in the future if you want. Also, you can put a dot right where its needed and nowhere else. It only works for colors that match Sharpie ink, which limits things to black for the most part. So, you are all set.Can you get matte black fingernail polish? Or maybe automotive touch up paint?
