Thunderbird Club

Just wrapped up week six with the cast on. Had a Dr visit today and they removed the cast to check for mending. Much to my relief, the bone is healing and better than expected progress has been made. Looks like I'll avoid the surgery and titanium rod treatment! Now I have a removable "ski" boot I get to wear during the day for the next month with instructions to gently start trying to walk and put pressure on the foot, backing off if there's any pain.

Feels so nice to finally have that cast off. I plan on strapping on my 2015 THUNDERBIRD tomorrow to see if I can stand and make it through at least a few songs. Doc says she'll know for sure in a few weeks if any PT will be needed. Needless to say, I'm so stoked with the good news I can't get to sleep, hence 4:00am posting on TB.
Great news!:D

And why do they taste SO GOOD on the grill!!?? But then again EVERYTHING tastes better the grill!! Even Veggies...
True. But if vegetables taste so good, why the need for a vegan hamburger imitating the taste and texture of meat? We all know the truth here, though some live in denial. Had a steak tonight and was glad it was made out of meat, not....

Well, I only have the one Bird. I always wanted one ever since I saw Nikki pounding on one during the Dr. Feelgood era, but I never could afford one back then. Honestly, I still can't really afford one of those super nice burst ones. But I managed to snag my Goth Bird with a few nicks here and there and no case for pretty damn cheap, so I took it.

I will say though, I really dislike the bridge. I just can't get the action down where I'd like it to be with this 3-point bridge. I'm considering swapping it for something else, but again, money.
You could shim the neck

Not meaning to slam anyone for their choice/commitment of not eating meat, but I ordered a scone from Peets once and ended up with a (mistaken) vegan scone ... :rollno:

I’m not a doctor. And I’m sure your orthopod knows what she’s doing. But I would encourage her to give you a PT referral for at least a couple visits to get you squared away on some appropriate home exercises to perform once it’s heeled.

I second the PT encouragement, and not just because my job is based in the industry. After my accident in December, Physical Therapy really helped me regain full mobility while fixing a couple of long term issues that i had been ignoring.

Is this really an Elitist model? I recall them having the Elitist logo on the back lower portion of the headstock.
But what do i know.

Epiphone Thunderbird Elitist Pro IV Neck-Through Made in Japan

The Elitist Birds were not neck-thru, but they looked like it. There may have been an Epiphone Japan version (see the link below) of the Bird that resembled the vintage Birds, but I could be imagining that one. The Elitist, at least any I have seen, had the humbucker sized TB Plus pickups rather than the soapbar sized/style TB Plus. I think that is a good price for that one and if I was in the market..........but I am not.

hard to tell if it's neckthrough or set neck..

Elitist were set neck but looked like a neck-thru.

I did not know all this. Perhaps a result of anxiety.
