Thunderbird Club

I thought under International Rock & Roll Law, no one but Johnny Winter and Rick Derringer were allowed to play that song.
Not even close

That was the lawsuit Ono version. There was probably an original back in the mists of time, but I do not know who did it.

Working again with my pal Mike Lynch. Solid young singer/guitarist/writer. I played bass (Cataldo NR41), sang bgv’s, engineered and will mix this. Just a trio, cut live with no overdubs. Vocals were cut separately. I’ll probably do some overdubs if it makes the record. I got all fancy and used 6 mics for this one, as well as my API 512 preamps. Bass was recorded direct. Ive never noticed this with SoundCloud, but after uploading it shrunk the low end a bit

Thanks Duke

I used to sing it in our 'lounge' group in the 70s.:sorry:
Will Lee sang it with the "Wold's Most Dangerous Band" on Letterman. They had a giant cake prop that he stood atop of at the end of the song, just barely making his falsetto soldier the final, struggling, trailing note. It was just awful, lol.
God bless 'im.

My local L&M is awesome. A few months back, I told them that I am looking for a cheap cab to keep at my brother's place - preferably a 210 or a 115. Since it won't get a lot of use, I was looking for cheap - around C$200 - and at that price, I don't think I can be fussy about looks.

Friday I got a call. They got in a used Mesa Boogie 410 Road Ready cab and they have put it on hold for me. Price C$250.

Today, I went in to take a quick look (I didn't have a lot of time to play through it) so I put C$50 down to hold it. I'll try it in a day or two and make a decision.

For reference, the Road Ready Boogies look like this:

It is a cab built in a road case. I was expecting it to be quite ugly but it looks like it has been toured but hasn't lived a terribly hard life. Two of the drivers have been replaced.

So, has anyone had any experience with these? Any thoughts on them? Anything you think I should find out about it?

These are kinda the precursor to the PowerHouse series.
Sound great.

Boogie stuff always seems to sound great (to my ears). I was hoping that there might be some real experience around here, but perhaps not. My limited look at the history is that these went out of production around the turn of the century (fun to use that term in a modern context), so the cab is at least 15 years old and perhaps as old as a bit over 20. The Boogie website claims a weight of 127#, so not a light weight, but it has wheels and I don't plan on moving it around a whole lot.

The cab in question looks like it has been toured but not abused. Or maybe it lived in a rehearsal space or venue. I'll see what they can tell me about its provenance. I suspect that someone is getting rid of it for weight and/or unloading unneeded/unused gear.

One of the joys of buying used from L&M is 30 days return/repair warrantee. It can be returned for any reason. If it breaks, they will repair it. To me that is worth the ~$50-100 premium over what I might pay on kijijii/craig's list.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with it. The wheels are a plus. My Bergantino cab weighs 98lbs.
But worth it's weight in gold.

Hmm. So it's a bass player's song?? BTW, I had no trouble with the last note.:) (can't hit it now. Close, no cigar)

Thanks.

Fender bought SWR in the late 90's - not sure the year. The Goliath 4x10 I bought new (pre-Fender) is a tank. It is almost a cube and heavy so very awkward to lift. It will sound as big as you want, especially paired with their 18" of the same size. Only used that combo a couple of times - just more that I'd ever need now.

Most of us seem to be on a similar page.

Nice! I gotta think that SoundCloud uses compressed audio so
some shrinkage is to be expected. Harrumph!

Well, for that kind of money I'd sell my Berg HT322.
Then go out and buy another one and pocket the change (I have deep pockets).

BTW - If anyone in the LA area is looking for a mint killer Berg NV610, I could be persuaded to part with mine, haven't used it in over six years now.
