Should have been a show tune...
We did that one with our 4 piece group(double keyboard Yamaha, trumpeter-doubling string ensemble keyboard, drums,and me on vocal and THUNDERBIRD). Remarkably full sound. For 4 guys, we really sounded like a quartet. Somewhere around here I might still have a cassette of us doing it(live). The gig was at a Ramada Inn restaurant/lounge[6 nights a week for 5 1/2 years]. Gigs like that don't exist anymore, 'least not around here.
Cuffs and collars, curtains and carpet, it's all the same.
Am I the only one here who actually likes that song, or the only one who will own up to it?
I like it(not just 'cos I used to sing it), but once a week-or less-would be sufficient.

Thumper - You can officially place me in the "do not like" category for MP.
But you bring up a good point, there may be closet fans of that song that are afraid to come out for it because it's so universally disliked. Maybe it needs its own hashtag movement.
Here's the thing with MP: The lyrics were/are beautiful, as are all Jimmy Webb lyrics; the over - dramatic Richard Harris vocals and the attempt to give the song this whole "cool" hippie vibe is what made it an epic fail to me. YMMV, IMHO, NOI.
pretty cool little beast...it has a triode/pentode switch...16.8 Watt in pentode mode, 7.2 in triode...
