Thunderbird Club

IIRC Scott @godofthunder59 still does them, correct with hot stamp bird. Not cheap but worth the $$.

Or you can DIY the guard and do the logo yourself with an original, photoshop, laser printer, and clear vinyl label sheet stock.

Scott had some seconds for sale a while ago, but I think he’s out of them.
Looks like a DIY situation. I might still do the cutout bird (my buddy owns an industrial laser cutting shop)- just need to decide on material and get or create the file.

Love the tone and playing! Have you posted a pic of the TBird trio for this trio? (Still catching up from a whole 36 hours of not seeing tb:tb.)

:) Thanks! I used the Saundersbird on that recording but lately have been using the Deadlybird IV

Deadlybird IV with Novak DS/BS pu's/500k pots, D'Addario EXLBT nickel's / '64 T-bird II with late 80's Seymour Duncan Hawkbucker, D'Addario EXLBT nickel's / Saundersbird with Kubicki 9v pre/Wilkinson Pu's & GHS Progressives, Hipshot drop-D on E tuner.

Can you compare it to any of the THUNDERBIRD pickups?
I don't know that many Thunderbird pu'ps, just the Epi Deep Sixx and the Thunderbucker+ on my present Classic Pro.
The Model One tends to be a little 'dark' sits in the deep zone for tone. But it is very clean- very much like Precisions I've had- and does give you some snappy mids/highs too. It's a humbucker though, and that is *not* a Precision at all, and the fatness of the Model One tells that.

So: Big and fat, dark-ish, very clean tone-wise. Lots of gain comes from it, so you pay attention to balance it with whatever else is in your bass.

Hope that wasn't too murky a description!

Away through Wednesday and staying in a hotel hoping around visiting relatives. Lots of down time and I need to get in playing time. I normally travel with a Rumble 25 that is perfect for hotel practice, with or without headphones. But after some of you waxed on about the Vox Bass Amplug recently, I picked one up today. It suits the purpose. Doesn’t hold a candle to the $100 Rumble and is comparatively expensive at $45. But it will work when PG&E shuts off my power. So here’s a pic of my rig for the next four days. I need to commission @Gaolee to find me a ss Thunderbird.
