"Jellied eels?" I don't think I'll ask about that. Lol!
My wife grew up in London. Londoners eat weird stuff fished out of the Thames. That's one she wouldn't touch. Being a primitive type, I will eat anything from anywhere and tried jellied eels. It was a mistake. There's at least one thing I won't eat.

It's a morning of much packing and getting ready for me, we're off on a three day trip to play 7 Cedars Casino outside of Sequim, WA. It's the big rock show for Halloween so we go all out, I have three outfit changes and four basses along for the ride. T he Les Paul Gold Top gets the nod for the first set, with the Epi VP being used on the last two songs as they're detuned a half step. The Jackson gets the second set and the Lull owns the third.
I write the set list and this show we're really watching the clock, we start at 8:30 and need to have two sets and a break in before 11:00 at which point the Casino does it's costume contest, that gives us about an hour to cool off and regroup. The last set can go as long as it needs to and anything that gets cut for time could be played there if we feel like it. As you can see, it's mostly '80s stuff with a few others in there, in writing the set list my goal is to just keep the evening steadily ramping up, so we don't mess around between songs much, just plow ahead, it keeps folks asses on the dance floor.
I will try to post some stuff as time allows - be good!

Being the slightly unacceptable person that I am, I really enjoy Halloween costumes that seem to be the thing lately. Otherwise modest young women take off most of their clothes as part of the festivities. I'm not sure what it is about Halloween that makes that happen, but I won't complain.

Where exactly are these modest young women taking off most of their clothes and how do I get an invite?

Well by golly, they are smarter than we think! This is working after all. Turn the power off and the wind stops blowing and no fires within 50 miles! Dog gone it, we can't control the environment! California is on the cutting edge of everything.:rollno:o_O

I haven't heard, but I'm assuming all those with power being turned off will at least have lower electric bills? Wouldn't be surprised if they figured out a way to keep charging.
So far it's lower electric bills but offsetting costs by orders of magnitude for back up power generators, propane, ice, and spoiled food. And that doesn't even take into account the hassle of no power to things like security systems, smoke alarms, cell phone charging, etc.

Hope the lights come back soon. The situation there is ridiculous and unacceptable I think.
I and everyone I know agrees. It's a stupid plan proposed by stupid CEOs and approved by stupid Politicians all of whom assume we consumers are even stupider and won't do something about it.

Execs were rightfully fried by legislators in Sacto this week. There was a fire near Santa Clarita yesterday that again caused closure of I5 south into the valley. A total mess.
Good! People around hear are starting to gather pitchforks.

we got Bevmo over here...similar pricing..
We have both Bevmo and Total Wine down here. Bevmo is routinely 10% or or more over the Total Wine pricing.

Probably off over a huge area. I'm guessing the transmission lines were an issue somewhere. Those go over hill and over deal, following tracks made by the wild mountain lawnmower that runs in straight lines and leaves bare tracks while it looks for lunch. If the wild mountain lawnmower isn't hungry for a while, the trees grow back and then there's a problem. Moral of this story, don't leave food scraps out or the wild mountain lawnmower will eat them, then you will have a power shutdown.
Moral of the story should be - feed the idiots who can't design and maintain a simple power grid to the mountain lawnmower. This isn't rocket science, the state has been managing these things fairly well for the last 100 years. Find out what changed and fix it!

BTW - the power is back on now. So later today when I finish setting up the 2015 THUNDERBIRD with the heavy Black Beauties I'll post a pic and give my first impressions of the new strings on this bird.

Congrats in advance!
You're gonna love retirement, and you'll also be amazed at how little spare time you actually have after you retire.

When I retire, it will just mean I finally have time to do all the things I'm trying to do, anyway, or have put off; that a paycheck doesn't own my time. I never understood people who retired and then didn't know what to do.

Hello? Yes, I'd like to report a young Thunderbird that's been thrown out of the house and abandoned by it's dad. Yes. mmhmm... Yup. It's just sitting out in front of the house now trying to get back in the locked door. It's heartbreaking to see.

Actually, I do know someone that would love to strip its parts... I mean... take loving care of it. Yes, that's right. His name is name is @GBassNorth.

No, I don't think he had anything to do with this. What's that? You have traced several text messages from southern California to this instrument's phone? I didn't even know that a bass could use a phone with the whole lack of opposable thumbs thing. Kids today sure do seem to find a way don't they?

No, I've never heard of people radicalizing bases over the internet...
Do, you think that this could be one of those cases? I mean, I don't really know the guy, except from a website called Talkbass.com.
oh....
wow....
oh my...
Well..... uh... I guess you don't really ever know someone do you? Those Californians are a strange lot, aren't they?

Well thanks, officer. I hope you catch the guy. I'm sure that the moderator of the Thunderbird Club on Talkbass will help you out. Yeah, the one with the polka dotted dress.

OK, have a nice day and stay safe!

:wacky:

You win the internets today.

I'm starting to think you don't believe the folks in bureaucratic structures are possibly smarter than the rest of us....:D

I'm just a dumb old boy from Kentucky, but there seems to be other options than inconveniencing several million people like this. Just saying.

More than inconveniencing. Costing money, and possibly health and lives. Criminal reaction to getting caught out for criminal negligence.

In honor of Thunderbird Thursday (well, coincidentally) I had a power-pop trio rehearsal using my Deadlybird IV (one of 3 chosen T-bird basses used in this band) through an SWR 400s/mongrel 15" cab tonight - love that combo... there's a farty tone you get if you push the driver a bit and favor the neck pu with a pinch of bridge pu. So R&R. (think Mountain, Cream)

Love the tone and playing! Have you posted a pic of the TBird trio for this trio? (Still catching up from a whole 36 hours of not seeing tb:tb.)

Those are some great sets! Overall, I think I like the first the best, but I'd enjoy any of them.
HAVE A BLAST. Especially on the THUNDERBIRDS.
Y'all need to do 99 Luftballoons.
