Thunderbird Club

Nice looking stage!

Thanks for the desktop image of the mountains! I love other people's pics!

It's amazing what a good stage, FOH and knowledgeable crew can do for a band, this place is just first class all the way.
They make our music sound great out on the dance floor, provide a professional setting that seems to push us to perform our best, and pay us well, truly a dream show for a cover band. I'm tired and sore today, probably pushed a bit since surgery was only a couple weeks ago, but very happy with our performance last night.

Here's a bit of the crowd.

I have never found a satisfactory answer for when I'm away. Maybe go to local music store and play Megadeath riffs on guitar over and over. Oh wait, there will be three other teens and on older guy doing that already regardless of town.
There are a coupla videos on YT about playing riffs wrong-intentionally-just to troll GC sales people.:smug:

There’s not in the rest of the country but because of the large Mexican population here and the date being so close to the Nov 1st Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations you see loads of fireworks this time of year..
Perfect for starting more fires.:wacky:

Wow. You’re good. Thanks. I would so love to buy that. But a new bass isn’t in the cards, at least until sometime next year. Kind of bleeding cash at the moment. I haven’t shared this, but my beloved mother-in-law (and I mean that sincerely, she was absolutely wonderful) passed away a few days ago so we’re dealing with some unexpected grief and expenses.
Sorry to hear that. There aren't any truly appropriate words, so I can't offer them. If there were, I would.

I have given considerable thought to the problem of travel with a bass. I expect that in the next year my business travel will again ramp up. Traveling for a day or so, I don't worry, but there are many occasions when I will be away for a week and I dedicated a great deal of thought to how to maintain some practice while traveling. Small amps, headphone amps, short scale etc. Then I had a realization. There are music stores everywhere and the vast majority of them do rentals. I just need to talk to the concierge before I depart and I can have a bass and small amp waiting for me when I arrive and just leave it there when I go.
That's why I love Guitar Center. There's always one somewhere fairly close, and they don't mind if you go in and play for a while. If you can play anything besides Smoke on the Water, it's a bonus.

he also had his neck scalloped and had each pup wired to it's own jack (stereo with two cords instead of a Y cord)...
I could be wrong (and with all due respect) but I believe the Model 1 was around before Sheehan..
Long before him. It was intended to replace a mudbucker and sound more like a P pickup. It doesn't do that so much, but the one in my EB-2 sounds great.

That venue was a project I did while working for a general contractor. The doors between the cabaret and the casino were the best fight I ever got into an architect over. We both decided those doors were perfect after offering to kill each other several times. I don't know what she's up to these days. She did a lot of work for the Jamestown guys.

Sorry for your loss. . .

Sorry to go off topic here, but I just installed TI jazz flats on my AV '58 p bass, reinstalled both covers and shoved foam muting under the bridge cover. Love the vintage tone! So much so that my band will be doing a cover of Wichita Lineman. Just figured out Carol Kayes bass part ( using a pick - I know, but I use a pick when called for ). Also ordered the TI's for my Rick 4003S.
Now, onto my Thunderbird - can anyone recommend a set of good strings to bring out more treble than whatever comes standard on epi T bird Classic Pros? Medium tension. I was thinking something in the DR line. Thoughts?

No expert. But I like the DR Hi-Beams I put on my Goth.

Like Vee, I’m no expert. When I got the PB Epi Tbird a month or so ago, the only fresh strings I had was a set of Dunlop Super Brights soI gave them a shot. They sound good on that bass with the stock Epi PUPs. Never used that brand before so I have no idea how long they’ll last. But for now, I like how they sound. The treble is clearer than that from the Black Beauties strung Goth which has the same PUPs.
