Thunderbird Club

Oooooh. I've got one for the '64 but retired it many years ago and use another case. It's not as nice as that one. As JIO said, they are almost useless for actual use. Resulting in no telling how many headstocks just popping off.
To be fair, weren’t most cases crap then?

...Funny you mention this. My buddy at the Laval store also offers this from time to time and recently even offered to lend me his own 5er if I needed one for a one-off thing. Makes me feel special, even though I know their goal is always sale, but they honestly do in a friendly way. I'm also well-known in another store and they never offered anything of the sorts.

You should. Clearly they trust you.

Maintenance/repair question... I have this old Hamer bass (the Mutant), and the chrome hardware has gotten heavily pitted. Is there a way to fix that, or should I just replace it if I find it becoming obnoxious to behold at some point (which seems to be now)?
Thanks for your consideration, here's a photo of the bridge.
Thunderbird question coming up next...

Looks like it fits the bass that way. Got a full frontal pic of the bass?

Whoa!....

IIRC, that was the Wiggle that had long standing health (cardiovascular) issues and he actually withdrew either from touring or from the band altogether for a long period. More recently, the red wiggle and the purple wiggle both left. I took my daughter to the red and purple wiggles' farewell tour (back when she was 3 or 4).

It appears from the news story that when he collapsed on stage, the other wiggles did the same. That would make the kids think it was part of the show rather than a traumatic childhood memory.

yeah he was off for 5 or 6 years at some point, didn’t think it cardiac though. The ABC said ”orthostatic intolerance” of which I know nought.

this was no. 1 of 2 shows for bushfire relief, by the original lineup, and adult only - which seems unique for The Wiggles. Though the original fans would be in their 20s I guess.

It was also being webcast, so to your point - except for the hour certainly possible that kids are watching.

reports are that tonight’s show will go ahead without him.

Reckon the YBA300 sounds a little fuller here - better low mids.

Traynor sounds fabulous. Always wanted one, but-as said b4-the only store in Miami that had them wouldn't discount, and I wouldn't/won't pay list. IIRC, I was looking at a YBA-200(mighta been a 100-mid 70s) to run my 2 7ender Bassman 2x12"cabs.

Is this Off-Topic Friday ? Cool.

One of the things that absolutely makes me looooove playing bass is working parts like Loverboy's Turn me loose. Not on the most recent hit-parade, I know, but I recently spent more time on it after my hearing got better and can now clearly hear all those little double-notes sprinkled here and there, without any real pattern I can figure out. The one little gem I found is in the last chorus' first turnaround, just before the G note. I'm sure it's my 'Bird's fault. Never heard them before she came into my hooosss.

God I love playing bass.
I haven't thought about Loverboy in quite some time. Maybe I'll have to learn one of their songs.

Even better, suggest that they are missing some critical form of dirt. For example - "Oh sure, you have odd and even harmonics well covered, but you really need to have the prime harmonics, that will give you that elusive _______ sound."

Buy it.

BUY IT!
You have a decidedly, delightful mean streak in you. Don't ever change('cept underwear).

Orthostatic intolerance is a version of orthostatic hypotension - insufficient venous tone to maintain blood pressure equally throughout the body. So standing, blood would pool in his lower body. Difficult to manage. If memory serves, it was secondary to another problem, it may have been Hashimotos disease, but something tells me that it isn't. Perhaps it was Addison's disease.
