You say that you are finished with string experiments. I will wager that you will do another experiment within a year.I think I'm finished with string experiments on the VPs. I think I settled on GHS Round Core Boomers. While all the strongs sounded from good to really good, I but the RCBs back a second time and and had that feeling while playing, "Oh, yeah. This is it." Man do they sound amazing on that bass. I tried another set of Round Cores from a different manufacturer (String Joy), and they did sound almost as good as the RCBs, almost. This bass has found it's perfect string match. Big, full, thick and some punch and bite.
On the other VP (burst), the Fender Flats I think are going to remain. They don't sound as fantastic as the RC Boomers, but I want something a little different and in flats if possible. They have some definite bigness with punch and bite. Very full but not dull or hollow at all. Good with both PUs or just the neck. I might try something else at some point on this VP, but the RC Boomers are most likely the forever strings on the white VP.
Edit: I will say that VPs are more forgiving with various strings than most basses. I've tried a lot and all sound decent, most pretty good. On most other basses most strings don't sound decent or pretty good. Some just awful. No so with the mighty VP.
Hubba Hubba!

The placement on yours in correct. Very nice BTW, I'm happy to add you to the club if you like.
I think we will need more.
Bright? Warm? Playing with a pick or fingers?
Thanks, but you already added me!![]()
And no one has noticed that I had it backwards. 10cm is smaller than 10".
Maybe best to start with D'Addario nickel and see where you want to go from there.I’m learning finger. I’m only a beginner

Channelling Yoda I was.Oh I noticed... but then you have everything else arse-backwards, so it wasn't worth the bother.
I’ve never seen a DB9 used for power before, but it does have the advantage of locking screws.the power supply buss from external (below) power supply, it can run up to four preamps..
Daily Mail but... c'mon have some self respect.
Just don't hang out on a surf board and look like a seal from below.great white you say ?

I can think of a few things. But what you are doing is a far better idea than some of those things.Items 1. and 2. complete -- what else are you going to do on a stormy afternoon?
