The elder gent of our gang wants ‘Oh no John’ which I think is merde; and ‘Old Folks At Home’ which I’m a bit uncomfortable with (but we haven’t tried it yet but it is on the prelim list).

I’m hoping they get shuffled out by others getting higher rating among our gang. But maybe not.

Well, FWIW, "Old Folks..." under its other title is the state song of Florida("Way Down Upon the Suwanee River"), so the 'minstrel' thing is OK left out.
In our band, we generally choose what to learn based on what our audience wants to hear. There are some songs that have been requested that just won't fit us-"Uptown Funk", for one-that we won't even attempt. We have ~300 songs we can do. That ain't one of 'em.

ok, seems there are new lyrics. I’ll try getting them adopted, the music sheets he provided have the old old lyrics.

All good. The NR41 is a bit special though.
Be interesting after the JCB gets a string change. The JAEbird would make a nice pair with the JCB or with the NR41, quite different.

Yes @Miles_ONeal, in the article (link a few pages back) Martin Turner of Wishbone Ash refers to modern Thunderbirds as ‘Teflon’, in comparison to 60s T’birds. That maybe so, but I don’t envision being able to purchase a 60s ‘bird anytime soon*; so I’ll be in the ‘love the one you got’ camp.

* perhaps I’ll be adopted by a 60’s ‘bird owner. Yeah, nah... not happening.

that’s it @GonePlaid. As well as the “ebber” for ‘ever’ amongst others similar. I’ll try to polish it up to the modern version lyrics (or some of them?) and see how that flys.
