Here's another for Chucky - again, currently on eBay (no affiliation of either) I figure Chucky can educate us on these interesting amps. :)

Thank JIO! Very cool and rare. Built by Fender guys who left Fender when CBS bought them. VERY high quality Fender type circuits with some twists. You can find those priced as low as 100 bucks! Total steal...

Not mine - saw it on eBay. Posted only because of the name. (and that CS works on/likes these vintage amps) Looks similar to an Ampeg B15 (with added master volume) but Chucky would be able to extrapolate.

Even better! You are right, similar to a B-15 in power and response. Differences are; you don't need to pull the chassis to adjust the bias when replacing tubes.....the Standby switch doesn't chew up the power tubes since it just grounds the signal and they are very low hum due to the way the tube heaters were implemented...haven't seen one of those in at least two decades!!

I’ve been looking for those smoked black cans and rings. Saw pics once (I think here) but cannot find anywhere. Would you have a link you could share?
I was planning on buying a nickel or chrome coated set and handing them to my car wheel repair guy to smoke coat or black chrome. If I decide to do it I'll ping you, and if you want I'll add a set for you to the batch at cost. My wheel guy can do Black chrome or gloss black as well and it would be a closer match to the bridge, but I've always liked the look of a black smoked finish best.

That would be interesting. Where would you find cans that fit?
Standard fare on eBay. The 2015 pups are quite a bit smaller than the covers, length and width should be no problem (although out of caution I'd still measure to confirm, but 99% sure they would fit). Depth might be an issue. All the cans I see on eBay look pretty shallow. Good news with the 2015 is that most owners end up burying the pups as low as they will go due to the overly strong magnets. Haven't measured the rings yet to see if they would fit the center block ok, but again I'm assuming they will (I intend to confirm this as well). Because I'd want this mod to be completely reversible, I'd cut the heads off of the ring mounting screws and crazy glue them to the trim ring then use double back tape or silicone caulking to adhere the trim ring to the body.

On a related note, I still need to test both ferrous and non ferrous metals to see it it makes any difference in sound or volume. I had also planned on lining the inside of the cover with vinyl tape to keep the pole pieces from directly contacting the metal can.

I stand corrected on the pickups. The EB-2 is semi-hollow as well. I would still expect them to sound somewhat similar, especially since my EB-2 has a Dimarzio One instead of a mudbucker. It would be good to try one. F-holes and archtops are one of those things that always get my attention.
...I've been attracted to F-holes since I was a teenager.

According to the copy - the Fender link is incorrect. Guy had an association to Fender but not as direct as legend has it. (only noting what I read in the sellers copy)

My poor man's EB-2. Semi-hollow.

Actually, they already did. They put a stop to ALL gatherings of more than 50 people. that means your local church, your office, ANYTHING. If it has more than 50 people, you can't do it any more.
Still think it's overkill, but I'm not a doctor. Nor do I play one on TV. And I've never stayed at a Holiday Inn Express.

Keep us all posted about the covers. I'm definitely interested.

And, life and everything is all about the f-holes.

yeah, see where you’re coming from. I don’t really gig mine cause I prefer a IV over a II, maybe @GonePlaid wants to trade...:smug:
Prolly not, but not for obvious reasons. The 67 has developed another problem. Not in the H.S. though somewhat related. Also related to my stupidity.:banghead:
