many SVTs were built at the Magnavox factory in St Louis..Yes! Still hoping I will eventually get our old Magnavox console. Circa 1964, IIRC.

That's gotta hurt for a train freak, but certainly prudent. That Thunderbird is a one -off Custom Shop piece originally made by Phil Jones for What's his name in the Scorpions, he evidently didn't like and it languished for some time before being completed.
What's sad is what Gibson is actually capable of that they just don't even try, I already have a lot of 'Birds, but were they to offer that bass I'd be on it in a heartbeat!
Somehow my job is deemed "essential" just now so on I go, I have given up the public transit for the duration however, it's just too much unneeded risk twice a day - driving the Subaru instead, I have paid, gated private parking and much less traffic than normal.........
yeah, not surprised...seen young HAMs embarrass seasoned RF engineers many times..Some guys in my dorm had spent insane amounts of money on steroes. They sounded good and were LOUD. But nothing in that dorm (or any other I visited) sounded as good as this one guys's setup that included a high end (Ampex?) reel to reel he'd salvaged from a radio station and one of those amps. He'd tweaked all of his gear quite a bit.. At 18, he had more practical knowledge about tube technology than some of the EE profs who'd been there for years.
appropriate?....Over my dead body. I appreciate a well placed banjo riff where appropriate. Heck, I’m a Neil Young and Avett Bro’s fan. But that I don’t get. At all.

Well, something to occupy your slow times. Pretty cool. FEC is not far from me. Not visible but quite audible both as they rumble across the bridge over the St. Lucie river and blow the horns for numerous grade crossings through Stuart,FL. They've been running these with a LNG tank between locos.(not the Stuart bridge)The BNSF (ex GN mainline) is right on the backside of my work I see trains all day long. 110 car unit trains of oil, grain or coal are all common sights.
Here's a big, stinky G.E. shoving on the back end of 110 cars of coal (that's 11,000 tons), lets just hope I'm not here if they decide to can up, it'll wipe the building out.

Yep, typical of this virus going around. It makes all options wrong. But, consider that if you don't buy, they will be deprived the money that they desperately need for something else; something that he/she has prioritized ahead of a Thunderbird. There are situations in which there are no good outcomes.*

For each person that believes that this is the best of all worlds, there is another who worries that to be the truth.Yep, typical of this virus going around. It makes all options wrong.
The building my office is in is right next to the train tunnel. The wall of the basement is also the wall of the tunnel. Being down in the basement when a train rumbles past is an experience. And, if a train full of oil or coal goes boom, so does the building. The BNSF (ex GN mainline) is right on the backside of my work I see trains all day long. 110 car unit trains of oil, grain or coal are all common sights.

Do you have a skirt like Pete's pants? That'd be wild.
On Every bass I've brought from private sellers I've always stipulated that if I decide to sell it at a later date, they will be given the first right of refusal to repurchase the bass back at the price they sold it to me.How about finding someone doing this and buying from them with the guarantee that they can buy it back when they're ready?
Vee, it's gotten to the point that I can't easily tell which train photos you post are real and which ones are your models. Yes, your work (and photography) is that good! The BNSF (ex GN mainline) is right on the backside of my work I see trains all day long. 110 car unit trains of oil, grain or coal are all common sights.

And finally a flock picture. Not Jeff quality, but very few pictures are.
The Telebird on the right is a baritone guitar, so it kinda fits in. It's a lot of fun to play. Too bad I suck at it. This picture sure makes the pixie dust '01 look weird lying on the sofa. I guess that's part of the magic - it's voodoo that makes it not show up quite right in photos as a trade-off for how well it plays. The bolt-on is to the right of the '15, and it's the one that will be a project when I finally get around to it. I have the Dimarzio One to put in once it's routed. The Flamingo convinced me I need to get the bolt-on refinished, too. It would look good some outrageous color to go along with the colors around the edges of its sound.

EXACTLY right! We will get through this together, as a nation, as we always have, despite what some in the Media are saying. The reports are that the truckers are getting supplies to the stores. People are stocking the shelves all night and letting old people shop first. Carnival Cruise line told Trump “We can match those big Navy Hospital ships with some fully staffed cruise ships” GM said hold our cars and watch this; we can make those ventilators where we were making cars starting next week. Women and children are making homemade masks and handing out snacks to truckers. Restaurants and schools said, We’ve got kitchens and staff; we can feed kids.” Churches are holding on-line services and taking care of their members and community. NBA basketball players said, “Hold our basketballs while we write checks to pay the arena staff.” Construction companies said, “Here are some masks for the medical staff and doctors”. Breweries are making sanitizer out of the left-over ingredients. We thought we couldn’t live without Baseball, NASCAR, NBA or going to the beach, restaurants or a bar. Instead, we’re trying to keep those businesses open by ordering take-out.
You’ve got two Democrat Governors getting told “We will make it happen” by a Republican President who has fought with them for three and half years. While the media keeps repeating itself, “We are a nation divided.”
What communist China didn't count on was America saying "Hey, hold my beer and watch this."
I think a Japanese Admiral in the middle of the Pacific said it best in 1941, "I think we have awakened a sleeping giant."
Give us a few more weeks (maybe months) and we will be doing much better! And stop listening to the hysterical media!!
We have wonderful country and an amazing God.
We WILL be ok .
Yep, 'Bird decal on both the 7enderbirds.On the P-Bird on the left, is there a Bird decal on there? it sort of looks like it on my screen.
Cool collection BTW.
View attachment 3757153 View attachment 3757154 I hope all are doing as well as can be expected. Eight months ago I took a maintenance job in a nursing home hoping to make it to 62. It's a good job with above average pay and excellent benefits. A employee tested early for the virus and due to my age and underlying health issues my Dr. told me not to report to work. I have not worked there a year yet so FLMA doesn't seem a to be a option. I am awaiting thier decision but I presume that I am soon to be unemployed.
Stay safe, keep busy. I started stripping the wallpaper in the kitchen.
Yup,EXACTLY right! We will get through this together, as a nation, as we always have, despite what some in the Media are saying.
Yup,
Another great quote:
"All We Have To Fear Is Fear Itself"
Well, more times than not, the Media are nothing more than "Fear Peddlers" LOL
