It didn't make a huge difference with only 250V on the plate.

Not a bad time to do it....not much going on....and can be kinda Zen. Investment is minimal, a pair of cutters, needle nose, couple of screwdrivers and a decent iron. Tubedepot and other online suppliers make it really easy delivering to your place, and all necessary documentation is online. You literally don’t have to leave your place...in that sense, pretty awesome times...If you decide to DIY, look up the Kalamazoo Amp Field Guide. It's in the Mods section, under safety mods. Or I'd be happy to do it. (As, I expect, would Chucky.)
The Field Guide has the docs to make the mod, unless you're totally new to electronics. In that case, you'll definitely want to learn to solder first. Not a bad time to do it....not much going on....and can be kinda Zen. Well I WAS referring to "the proper amp"Uh, the lava lamp? I don't see a Thunderbird in that picture.
So very true. Hoarders. Probably have a room full of Thunderpot toilet paper as well in the collection.Don't give him any ideas! He already owns about half the '60s Thunderbirds ever made. Scott is on his way to owning the other half.

1968 all original, I'm the second owner. Don't think I'd ever consider hitting someone with it, might scratch the finish.![]()
Oh, I already have the tools. And have been in the guts of a Valve Jr combo modifying it a little. Because I could. There are about a zillion other projects on my plate, including making a template, routing the body, and installing the third pickup up at the neck of the bolt-on 'Bird. Not a bad time to do it....not much going on....and can be kinda Zen. Mine is a ten year old Road Worn. It came from the factory battered, and I have enjoyed not worrying about bangs, dents, and scratches. It is no longer a fake relic. It is truly a scarred warrior now. So, it is the weapon of choice for the zombie apocalypse.Hey, I have a paddle too...
