Thunderbird Club

I wanted to say the same thing! In fact, Jimi Hendrix told Chicago band members that Terry Kath was a better guitarist than he was! I also like SRV better. ;)

I just don't worry who's best. I enjoy them all and listen to whoever I want to in the moment!

I'll never forget the time I told Ceterra, Kath and the band to their face that their music sounded kinda sappy.

Before folks start throwing stones, in my defense, I'd never heard of the band Chicago, and I was very much into Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin type music at the time. Just a smartass high school kid at the time.

Their first album was the only one I ever really loved. I liked most of II a lot, III was OK, by IV I was losing interest in a lot of the music. Excellent players, but their direction lost me.

Ij picked up a White VP with a pretty good crack in the neck, pulled one of the pups out. Now I'm thinking about having it painted Inverness. I am not sure what I will do with the pup configuration as of yet. I am not quite done with a different bass, decided I might really need a good quality straight edge but really want to see if it is possible to not spend a hundred bucks.
That would be amazing!

Nothing against a J, but no direct comparison. Especially positioned in Gen1 T-bird spacing. Big, aggressive and growling. (the only aspect that a good J shares) I have a mid '60's Teisco with 2 singles and it similarly roars. Hot singles...

Thanks! Sounds good. I'm not a Jbass fan, though I own a great '71 and '62.

Update,
PU's tamed & changed the Flatties to DR BB's and HELLO:hyper:

What a difference that made, the "other women" are gonna get jealous now!!
Hey I can at least say "I Tried" in regards to Flatties and even though these were by far the best I ever tried (EB Cobalts)there is just no substitute, she's speaking to me now!!

BTW if anyone wants to to try them, I'll be glad to share..:bassist:

Flats do sound good on L2ks. I have a set of GHS Precision Flats on one L2k. I think my favorite string for the M series was TI Jazz Rounds.

Didn't know they had a slotted head in '68.
I’ve not a clue. Just saw it and thought it would be fun to have those that know about them enlighten us. Last time I was in GC Hollywood, they had three or four Cherry ones in the Vintage room; I don’t recall any of them having the slotted HS. I can’t see paying anywhere close to what that seller is asking, no matter what year it is.
