OK. I'm officially now interested in considering moding one of the VPs to Series option. Dog gone you!

Every bass I have that has series/parallel switching ends up in Series mode 90% of the time. I just assumed the VP was already in Series. If in fact it's wired in parallel and someone here mods it to series I'd be very interested in info on the mod.

This was all one take, Broughton P-15 all controls at noon, Union Tube & Transistor LAB compressor, both at 10:00, brand new GHS PressureWound M7200.

Neck, Bridge, Both in Parallel (Stock wiring), Series (Both, non stock).

I hope you enjoy it and make the mod to yours, I think it's a great thing.

Nothing to apologize for! And it shows the difference. Series results in a very ahemmable big bottom.

Very different style, but also very well done. And not just the music, but the whole package. My only complaint is the same someone else mentioned- too short! (As in, I want more!)

I just finished the third time listening to the mt. vengeance on repeat. (Gotta break for supper and a video call.)

1. Brian: What genre do y'all consider this? I want to submit it to Music Brains & would rather use what y'all call it. Beyond the driving punk base, I can hear influences from a variety of decades here. What are the general ages of the band members? I love stuff like this. There's dollops of psychedelica, Hendrix, grunge, 90s alternative, 80s synth, and in one case Missing Persons. (I'm guessing none of you dress like Dale Bozzio used to.) I heard some Dead Artist Syndrome in there as well.
2. I was having a really hard time not jumping up and dancing to "The Highline" so I danced in my chair while I worked.

Miles you are too kind! All of the influences you cite are correct. We just always think of it as "Rock" music for both Mt. Vengeance & Poppy.

All of us are in our 50's, have kids and careers but have a unifying thread of all having been in bands in our teens and twenty's. At this point it is done for the enjoyment of it. Ending up on a small label was not a part of the plan but we are all really happy and grateful that it worked out that way!

Feel free to characterize it however you see fit. We are all just really glad that someone, aside from the 11 people we played to at the last show, is listening!

What's the label doing to promote you?

Poppy feels like there's some Smashing Pumpkins and Silversun Pickups influence.

They are just getting up and running. They just got a publicist this week! It is a one man operation, Jim Fiumara, who has a deep love of music and wanted to help local bands get physical records out to the public.

He runs it from his living room and he, like all of us, has a real job and life outside of the label. The fact that any of this is even happening is mind blowing at this point in my life. Just very grateful to be "invited to the party" let alone actually being able to go!

Lots of love for it here, I posted it. Rob van den Broek (of The Gibson Bass Book) is it's creator - I really like his adaptation of two great Gibson basses. Commercial users have to be very careful about posts on TB, it's a violation of their agreement, thus he didn't mention it here. It's the same for Carlo of Cataldo and myself.

I totally dig this bass!

Sounds good to me. Did you use a pick? Using my rig (Embassy1>Markbass LMII > Audiokinesis Thunderchild 115), fingerstyle, I had different results. My series setting had less bass, much stronger mids. You're rig sounds really nice, great growl.
