Shipping woe follow-up: I called the post office this morning. Nice guy answered the phone, knew the entire issue before I started to explain it to him. Told me I could come and pick it up today or I could have it mailed to me and I would get t tomorrow.

I was feeling lucky so I said mail it...also have this pesky thing called a job I have to do... all in all not terrible. Turns out the address was keyed in wrong at the the point of origination. Better than any Fedex/UPS issue/problem I have ever had to work through.

I got an email from UPS that says I have a package due for delivery tomorrow. Signature required. That would be the guitar. What is a little odd is that the last time anybody seems to really know where it was, it was in Kansas getting on a truck. It's been in a truck across the prairie all this time since the last Saturday morning and never anywhere it would get scanned? Maybe they are just bringing it directly here.

They put it on a special delivery truck in Kansas, and have a tag team of drivers. That must be it.

I believe they're not allowed to raise rates, at least significantly.

Yeah, they have constraints that UPS and FedEx do not have. Plus they have some other issues that make it more difficult. I could get into it a bit, but it gets into politics.

Hey all! I’ve got a quick question for this vast pool of knowledge. I know it’s probably been discussed already but I’m looking for more concise info since I’ve been researching for days now.

I’ve got an Epiphone T-Bird Pro and I’m planning on gutting the electronics and upgrading everything. Only problem is, I can’t really find any pickups that’ll drop into the body without doing some woodwork.

I’ve seen the recommendations of Thunderbuckers, Lollers, and I took a quick look at Lulls (until I seen the price) but I was wondering if there’s any other options? I’m trying to find some passives that won’t cost as much as the bass, but if that’s what has got to happen then it’s gotta happen.

When I replaced the pickups on my Pro IV with Lace Alumitones, I recall having to shave a bit of the corners of the routes, but that's it. It wasn't much. I cannot say what else fits, but if there's any alterations necessary, it won't be much, and you can do it easily and cleanly with a sharp chisel.

The knobs are easy to get either on Reverb, Amazon, etc.... Gibson PRMK-010
(I also add nickel knob pointer washers to all my bass guitars...also on Reverb)
The strap is the "classic #2" from Bear Straps in the UK...Rupert makes them for Noel Gallagher, Joe Walsh, and more
