Yesss...that does sound very appealing!

I'm pretty sure, though not 100%, if I don't stick with the white, it'll get something red-toned and metallic. May strip it (or, more probably, have somebody competent do it), and see what the woodgrain looks like.
But then, if it's any good, I'd have to decide between an opaque finish, and translucent? Transparent? Not sure which terminology is appropriate....

It might be time for a picture of the Flamingo. It can't happen for a week, but nobody is going anywhere. That means a week doesn't matter.

Random late night thought: If I was to build a bass that was the opposite of a 7enderbird(Precision body with TBird neck)would it be referred to as a Bird P?

Well, since neither one of you can agree--I should just do it and let you know later what bridge I used.

Both would be winners in my book! I have both bridges (not on the same bass) and like each very well.

Now I want a Thunderfenderbird, a dual neck bird with one of each type neck, and each brand of bridge. That wouldn’t be heavy at all.

These are pretty cool (Danelectro Sitar's - but there are also clones since) - but you can adapt a regular guitar to sound like a sitar (minus the harp-strings) installing the bridge unit, which is available. It basically is a flat extension that the strings resonate on giving it that buzzy sitar sound. Works well for surf and '60s pop songs.

Now you're overthinking it--or just staying up too dang late, or visiting the refrigerator too often and staying up too late!

Nope. Not at all. Only drawback would be slight complete body dive, resulting in curvature of the spine and dislocation of the hips.

Mebbe so, but I think I'll still get Chinabuckers for Thunderjazz #2. I'm so happy with #1 (white), I'm doing a #2 in black. Gonna sell an Embassy to finance. Difference being pickguard and control plate delete (maybe, probably)

I've found 3 bodies in my weight range, ash, alder, and mahogany. Given that I'm trying to get as close as possible to my alder body Thunderjazz, should I stay with alder, or am I overthinking this? BTW, the mahogany has a beautiful finish in flame maple.

I thought about buying a kit for a NR TBird that I saw listed. Wasn't mahogany. Nope. Dunno if that helps you, but for me it's mahogany or nuthin'.
