Thunderbird Club

always wondered it that’s an 8 or 12...that little 8ths thingy against the vocal rocks..
The only pedal I use is an EHX Micro POG. If you play in the middle of the bass's range with both octave up and octave down on the stomp box(plus the played note), you get the effect of Tom's 12 string bass without all those pesky other strings to keep in tune.:smug:

Seriously, the white bass with neon strings would be way cool on stage under black lighting. Some matching fingernail polish, lipstick and hair dye would make for an awesome stage presence.
I have the nail polish for that, just need to work on getting the other two!

Strings & polish!

Sounds like you're a fan of that signature Jazz "burp", that's cool, to each their own.
Which is why I said in my post "I know some people like that burpy, raspy, barky sound but to me it's the musical bass equivalent to a kazoo." Obviously to you it isn't, move on.

LOL - probably about the same as many other states in the union feel about California. That's ok, I have thick skin (and a thick head).

I double checked my made in China bolt on Eppi Goth TBird and it does in fact have a 1.5" nut. I don't know if the Korean bolt on Eppi Goth is the same. But there appears to be at least one exception to the bolt on neck size.

my Goth is from China and has the wide neck

I've been considering getting a VP after all the raves about them here. Maybe if the live music biz ever gets going again. Besides, I really need to snap another head stock.
Be on the lookout for a used or demo. Good prices can be had on nearly mint VPs. Makes snapping a headstock more affordable.

I notice the difference when I think about it. I mostly don’t think about it. To me it’s not a huge difference. But I’ve met others who would think it’s a huge difference. The bigger difference in my two Gibson’s is the reach is a bit longer on the NR.

i get along fine with both standard bird neck sizes. It was just the Pro V neck I couldn’t abide.
