Thunderbird Club

Anyone know what case this is? Came with the '06 and fits a Thunderbird and don't need it and am thinking of getting rid of it.

I have something like that if not that - inexpensive gig-bag that fits a T-bird. I have extra foam sheets cut to shape inside to help as it has no padding. Gets the bass to rehearsal or a gig as long as you are careful.

No kidding. Kara shows how things should be done.
Not super hard, but more than putting on strings; would have been a lot harder without the xuron cutters suggested by @TBird1958 in her post about the "procedure"...maybe a 3 or 4?
Took about 20-25 minutes, partly because I hadn't done one before, and also because I was trying hard to not stab myself or cut off a finger, or something else painful like that :smug:
Kara doing things right...

Way more fun to have "interesting" detours including lopping off a finger or two and a trip to the ER where they will load you up on Versed and Dilaudid.

I know that cat, but can't give out the name. It's not really a cat. Just looks that way when he wants to. We've been in negotiations together with the extraterrestrials concerning best practices survival. Would you believe the ETs use Zoom?

For the record I haven't drank in over 30 yrs. But did so much then there's likely still some in my system.....
You’ve been spending time with @PillO again, haven’t you.

True. Wish I had the space for one. Maybe the next place I move...

I miss being able to just pop over to my grandad's house to get him to do stuff like that :(
Wood was always more his thing; I preferred metal (and also, Metal :bassist: )
What's the best Wood for Metal?????? LOL

Loving the posts Kara. We’re all learning as you go. Pretty much why hanging here is a good habit (most of the time).

...or maybe his Uncle...

Good afternoon Thunderbird loving sisters and brothers. I hope everyone is having a good Labor Day weekend. Crazy windy and smokey in Spokane today, watching my pines sway and hoping they all stay upright. Saw this young buck munching on my little Japanese maple. He has been living behind my shop for awhile now, but will disappear once the weather cools down. Heading for Portland later this week, hoping to visit a couple of music stores. Have a great day everyone.

Drop D is confusing. That is why I moved to D standard. And a capo at the 2nd fret puts you back to E standard.

you, too, my friend!
I chose to work today. Big upgrade weekend looming. I’ll take Labor Day another day.

This one has good padding and seems like a fairly nice bag. I just don't need it. HSC for me. It's that whole headstock flying off thing.

I have the one like yours that has the good padding. I have used it for my VP for one show or if I was running to a friends house. It's fine for that but I would feel more comfortable using it for a bolt-neck Bird than my Gibson's.

Happen to know the brand by any chance? I'm thinking of selling it in the classifieds. It came with a bass (along with the Gibson HSC) and just don't need it.

Just doing my job as an enabler, there's a sweet looking Gibson Thunderbird Studio four string in dark red at not a bad price, don't know if they will deal...

I Don't see the studio models for sale very often, rumor has it they might be heavy but supposedly sound very nice. If I'm not mistaken our Queen recently acquired one and has been quite smitten by it.

That is very nice. I. Must. Resist.
