This is close to what it looks like out my front door right now (noon). More orange than this pic and less bright. Ash on anything outside. From Oregon fires. Sheesh...

and gender reveal parties...

Yah, it's all over the news... as much as it is a fact - it's typical sensationalist news to focus so heavily on the "gender reveal" part. How about, "a party of people" ...etc.

I would bring home the largest USPS flat rate box (they're free until you ship them) and see what you can do. USPS is pretty liberal with the rules as long as it can be closed with the sticky flap.

You could also try folding or rolling it up as compact as it will get, then putting it inside a plastic bag and strapping it as tight and small as possible with packing tape.
Great thought. Thanks!

I did the Pete Townsend impersonation with the Babicz and suffered the consequences:

No matter how many times I've seen that it looks more painful than the time before I think. I always meant to ask, did you say the prerequisite formula for such actions? "Hold my beer, watch this?" Seems to help prevent some bad things from happening…

The gender reveal party is so important. If not how would family and friends ever know? :rollno::banghead: Oh, wait, they could just tell them like has been done for thousands of years. There's a thought. Absolutely don't get such things, or "the party of people" thing right now.

The injury did not hurt to badly. The sticking the needles in the wound to numb it for sewing did! Also the nurse sewing was relatively new and while he did a good job, he took a LONG time. The numbing agent was wearing off as he finishing and I would flinch as the needle went though. He asked if I wanted more pain meds and I asked if he could finish a bit quicker....:jawdrop:

I played a jazz bass for 20+ years prior and did windmills all the time. This was the first and last attempt using the Thunderbird. :bassist:

There was no hold my beer moment but the band after us refused to take the stage until some cleaned up all the blood. There was a good bit. They tried to get me to do it as I was headed out the door to the ER. Not bloody likely!:D

Rings. Must. Have. Rings!

Looks like Mars outside from about mid state up. We're just a bit hazy from heat and smog down here in SoCal.

Great thought. Thanks!
Vacuum pack that baby! Unzip the gig bag first, then fold a few times and put in a large trash bag. Hit it with your vacuum cleaner or shop vac for a minute to suck all the air out. You'd be shocked how much smaller it'll get. Box it up an ship it out.

I meant something different. Instead, let's say it was a feminist celebration party - by specifying what kind of party gives people an excuse to condemn feminist. It sensationalizes the nature of the party, which has absolutely nothing to do with starting a fire. A group of people started a fire by not being careful.

LOL - when I first read the news article I assumed a gender reveal party was some kind of celebration for what we used to call a Coming out Party. Turns out a gender reveal party is a fairly common celebration, like a baby shower, to let everyone know what sex the baby will be when it's born.

Unfortunately, the entire fricken state of California now knows she's having a baby boy, because some moron fired off blue fireworks in a fire hazard zone, during peak fire season, while its 100+ degrees outside. At least, from what I've heard, the authorities will be holding the responsible (or irresponsible as the case may be) individuals on the hook for all damages. I suspect their umbrella policy isn't going to cover this one.

Not sure if any lives have been lost yet, but I'd imagine plenty of wildlife and pets have been put in harms way, there might even be Thunderbirds caught up in this mess. Maybe they'll name the kid Damien.
