The injury did not hurt to badly. The sticking the needles in the wound to numb it for sewing did! Also the nurse sewing was relatively new and while he did a good job, he took a LONG time. The numbing agent was wearing off as he finishing and I would flinch as the needle went though. He asked if I wanted more pain meds and I asked if he could finish a bit quicker....![]()
They tried to get me to do it as I was headed out the door to the ER. Not bloody likely!

It was suddenly smoky here yesterday. Apparently it was smoke from California/Oregon.
Kind of hits the nail on the head. I might go as far as wonton disregard for safety given circumstances (dry tinder in wooded areas as California always has at the end of the dry summer season).A group of people started a fire by not being careful.
Sex sells. Although it gets some of us in more trouble if we try to reveal gender too much. Or reveal much of anything too much. Better safe than sorry. And don't light anything on fire.Yah, it's all over the news... as much as it is a fact - it's typical sensationalist news to focus so heavily on the "gender reveal" part. How about, "a party of people" ...etc.
LOL - when I first read the news article I assumed a gender reveal party was some kind of celebration for what we used to call a Coming out Party. Turns out a gender reveal party is a fairly common celebration, like a baby shower, to let everyone know what sex the baby will be when it's born.
Unfortunately, the entire fricken state of California now knows she's having a baby boy, because some moron fired off blue fireworks in a fire hazard zone, during peak fire season, while its 100+ degrees outside. At least, from what I've heard, the authorities will be holding the responsible (or irresponsible as the case may be) individuals on the hook for all damages. I suspect their umbrella policy isn't going to cover this one.
Not sure if any lives have been lost yet, but I'd imagine plenty of wildlife and pets have been put in harms way, there might even be Thunderbirds caught up in this mess. Maybe they'll name the kid Damien.
Just buy the sparkly green one that’s on Reverb! The Flamingo is full of holes I drilled for things like that. Drilling holes in a Gibson has a liberating quality.
For what its worth, I haven't decided if the fretless or bolt-on will be the next 'Bird to get a different color, but I know it's going to be Sherwood Green. There are a couple places that carry that color in rattle can nitro. At least that part is kinda-sorta settled. That picture of Geddy's green 'Birds sealed the deal.
Like Pete.Windmills? Like Pete Townsend? Or something else...![]()

Nah. Where's the fun in that? It would irritate my wife, but it won't irritate her for days and days and days like spraying nitro will. Plus, it wouldn't cause endless frustration when yet another spider commits suicide in the paint, a leave embeds itself in the paint, and all the other things that happen when you try painting under a tree after your wife kicks you out of the house for making it smell awful. I look forward to all of those things.Just buy the sparkly green one that’s on Reverb!

I'm leaning toward the bolt-on, since it would give me an excuse to install the Dimarzio One at the neck.
That's actually funny, but not necessarily in a humorous way. As in.., determining a baby's sex is usually not news-worthy beyond friends & family, especially if the parents aren't rich or famous, so I can't imagine people getting too upset about the reason or nature of the party. But... broadcasting the type of party (whatever type) is still unnecessarily amplified through sensationalist media and has obviously caused confusion. Not knowing the in-depth facts/story, (thanks for the clarification Geoff) all I've been hearing on various news sound-bites is "gender reveal party" started fire. As someone who has never heard the term used for a baby-shower and living in an era of gender-politics... well, it's pretty irresponsible for the media to not say "gender-reveal aka baby shower" or something as simple as that.
Completely agree. Coming out, Baby Shower, or whatever wasn't the cause of the fire and does nothing to aid the reader in what caused the fire. Plain and simple, illegal fireworks shot off by an idiot in a fire zone at peak fire season on one of the hottest driest days of the year caused the fire. Media should be focusing on that. That's actually funny, but not necessarily in a humorous way. just terrible.
I learned in my 23 years of 18 wheeling that truck drivers are pretty low on the scale of "people to care about". Until they need us.speaking of dumba.....people not too bright playing with fire...
On the way back from Merced this morning, the cops blocked off one lane of the freeway, in a construction zone, due to debris in the lane. To do this, they used flares! Dozens of them, as if half the state on fire wasn't enough
Didn't improve my opinion on their choice when I had to drive by in a gas truck, wedged between their flares and a jersey wall...![]()
Gotcha. Never heard that interpretation before. Around here anyway condemnation has nothing to do with them. No one cares either way and is happy either way, which is in part why I find them silly. No offense to those who have had them or enjoy them. A Thunderbird reveal party is another matter entirely!I meant something different. Instead, let's say it was a feminist celebration party - by specifying what kind of party gives people an excuse to condemn feminist. It sensationalizes the nature of the party, which has absolutely nothing to do with starting a fire. A group of people started a fire by not being careful.
We're not making that some kind of ritual in the Princess Fingers Club. But I can see if we have stray member and the punishment is to play Colbalts for hours there might be a blood letting similar to that of the pic.I never get tired of those pictures.
