Looks a little bit like the strap button fell out and the 'Bird hit the floor.
Pro tip: tighten strap buttons once in a while.

Didn’t realize you got a new place. Looks like an awful lot of yardwork to me though.
Careful....I was trying a subtle joke on voting machines. Too subtle I guess.
That is a really nice Thunderbird. Just not the right time for me though. Hope someone here makes it happen.Currently on Reverb - 1995 Gibson Thunderbird IV Limited Edition Vintage Reissue Bass Ebony Fretboard, w/ Case | Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar | Reverb
I wasn't aware of such a model from 1995 - kind of a mist-mash of a '60s & '70s IV with ebony fb and Schaller Y tuners.

You’re a funny guy. What happened to the butt end of her guitar ?
It is in Seattle.....That's a curious bass, the pickups really look like Greco parts because of the oxidization.

Still waiting to hear if I have anything to be concerned about on this front. Assuming no.Yeah, but Gibson in April 2021.

Yeah, who knew? News to me as well. Good overview you gave of the bass.
I've noticed the same thing about asking prices across the board pretty much regardless of make or model. I was looking at Alembic basses the other day and couldn't believe the bottom of the line Epic models (the ones that were mass produced and sold new at Guitar Center for around $1000) are now asking between $2000 and $3000. That's insane for that bass. Just a few years ago you could pick those up anywhere for well under $1500.
TB seems to be one of the better places to shop right now. Guitar Center used stuff is somewhat reasonably priced, Reverb is nearly off the rails in a lot of their listings, and a lot of the Brick and mortar stores are over the top. All this while I assume demand is dropping, seems crazy.

My habit is to give everything a tightening every time I change strings. Make it part of routine maintenance and there is no need to even think about it.Looks a little bit like the strap button fell out and the 'Bird hit the floor.

Yeah, that's why I went for subtle. And I thought it played equally to both sides. I guess too careful is just not funny.Careful....
In other news, the sprakle green Epi is down to a "reasonable" $1100 now

I think there are a lot of lookers these days with the pandemic and all. The ad says make an offer. I would in different times....That’s a reputable shop too. It will find a good home.Prices do seem to be out of control on Reverb and a few other places I've looked. I did find this one:
Gibson Thunderbird IV Black 2001 | Enigma Guitars | Reverb
Twin to my 2001 ebony Bird. The best sounding Bird I have ever owned and that is saying something. I think the price is high but if it sounds like mine.......

LOL - every time I see that green sparkle Eppi I just shake my head. An original finish used one in good working order is worth around $300 on a good day. With a cool unique finish done right, add a couple hundred bucks. With a gaudy finish done wrong (painted frets and fret boardPrices do seem to be out of control on Reverb and a few other places I've looked. I did find this one:

) subtract a couple hundred bucks. He's sitting on a $150 max bass without the case and could probably get as much or more by just parting it all out. LOL - or just paint it entirely green and give it to Bronco Bobs Guitar Emporium (home of the all green sparkle bird noted above) to list for some crazy price. Might be a bargain compared to this...I doubt it at that asking price. Maybe if under $2k it would be reasonable for what it is. Point being one could buy an Epi or cheaper Gibson bird and turn it into that bass for a whole lot less.
I only saw 2.Do you think those are '64 pups on that bass?
