I was considering trying the Optima flats but haven't yet. Are they gold colored like the rounds? What flat would you compare them to from a sound standpoint and from a feel standpoint?

Scratch that. I'm not paying attention. I have Pyramid Gold Flats.

Anyway, I've only tried them on that bass so I only know what they do on it. However, I would say they might be a cross between GHS Precision flats (but even warmer I would say) and TIs in that there's a little something unique going on. No, these are not gold, though called Gold.

Yes, and no doubt why that have a warmer tone that is very chocolatey and smooth. Really nice strings for warm thump without being dull.

It’s an SKB - older, but I would recommend it over a Gator case I had. I’ve got my XR-18 mixer, wireless router, power bar, power amp, and a panel with Speakon connectors (the amp has banana jacks) all stuffed in there. I added rack rails at the back.
