I was going to ask if anyone had tried their flats! How do they sound compared to the Cobalt flats?
Well the Pyramid Gold's, which I actually have, compared to the Cobalts don't hurt my fingers! Can't comment on the Optimas, but the Pyramid's are really warm and rich sounding. Great lows, mids that set right and very pleasing top end. Cobalts are more like Rounds and the Pyramids are classic flat thump with some complexity going on. Cobalts have more of a modern punch, as you can imagine. Each is great for their tonal abilities.

Thanks! 99% sure I'm sticking with the black hardware. I think I'll get a pickup ring for the bridge pickup like the '60s ones have and like I did for my Reverse.
I'm not normally a fan of much black hardware, but that looks fantastic as is. The looks of my '06 has grown on me, especially with the Black Beauties. At first I wasn't really sold on the black PUs and hardware, but now I really like how it looks. I'm so used to seeing a PU ring, I think it would look great.

Yeah, thanks. I always loved the black hardware. And black pickups look good with rings, too. My BC Rich also has it. But the ones on my Reverse are... reversible. They're held on with adhesive. I got that idea from Carlo.

Very cool. You sure are in the right place for all kinds of 60s amps. Makes you wonder whose hands those old amps passed through.
they mostly come from a friend’s store who’s been in the business for many decades. add a really (at times) happening music scene and you’re very likely to run into some interesting subjects..
