Thunderbird Club

It caught me by surprise that I was timing notes just right on the bridge to “Ball of Confusion”. If I don’t think about it, I’m fine. But if I think about it, I have to count.
I also have a problem seeing myself in a mirror playing. I can play something perfectly without looking. But then I look at my hands in a mirror, or think about how I am plucking or fingering and I get all tripped up. My mind can only work on one thing at a time I guess.

And ahem.

It's a Marmite colour. You either love it or hate it.

The color works for me, the bass, not so much. Now a Destroyer painted that color would be something.

Hmm. Not a TBird, but the colo(u)r might appeal to someone.
Greco FVB 1978 Burgundy Flying V Bass | Klaus' private basses | Reverb
I saw one of those for the first time on Reverb earlier this morning. Cool color, almost a pearl pink, but I don't care for the bass it's on. Not a great color for a slab body but might look interesting on LP Memphis bass or maybe a JC hollow body.

While on Reverb I did find this interesting...
Ibanez Standard SR300E Bass Guitar - Pink Gold Metallic
I'm jot into the body style at all but if the pups in this are anything like the one in my vintage Greco TBird this could be a killer bass.

I owned a 5 string SR for a short while - Ibanez makes very well designed/made user friendly basses that sound good. I just like the look of other basses more.
I have tried a few in the store. They sound great and are incredible basses for the price; the bass/$ ratio is very high. But the look (other than some interesting colours) is meh.

Exactly. It's kind of a perfectly designed instrument for its function. I can't slag it in any way other than not being drawn to its looks, which of course is subjective. Those who really like the way they look are very lucky bass-players because they are great basses. There are a number of non-Ibanez clones out there and I'm not certain who penned that design first, but Ibanez has done very well with their SR and related series basses.

I've been watching it, little pricey for me. I still really want a '75 Ibanez.

Well, the mirror does swap your hands, and they're not used to the pother roles. It's bass player Freaky Friday.

If it's anything like my TB II, well it's a good thing the stimulus check hasn't arrived - 'cause it'd be mine!

Close enough?

I was watching this doc on Amazon Prime called Instaband, about the evolving state of the music industry and what artists are doing to get themselves out there. There's this band called Kid Politics who's featured in it and the bass player sometimes plays a Thunderbird. I couldn't get much detail on it besides this. That stark contrast of the burst edge makes me think it's an Epiphone. And the front jack.

@ Miles

"Prehensile" — I must've come across this word before, but can't recall it. Always love expanding my vocabulary, thank you.

Friend had a Pink Hamer Guitar not unlike that Ibby earlier... ahhh the 80s....
