Thunderbird Club

I installed the hipshot bridge on my new epi cp last night. A really great piece of hardware but, I find it to feel different under my pick hand. (I rest my hand on the bridge). So, I’m sticking with old one but, keeping the hipshot tuners. If anyone is looking for a hipshot 3 point bridge, pm me.
I’m still trying to figure out what strings came on it, ghs boomers I think.
I don’t “need” it, but I can use a black one if no one else needs it. PM me the particulars if no one else chimes in that they need/want it.

As Sean would’ve said:
“Itsh a lovely bashe”.

I was as big a Yes fan as there was until 1980’s Drama. I saw then every time they came to SoCal beginning with the Tales tour. They’ll always be one of my favs. Drama had one decent track. The tour bombed. The guys had to figure out how to feed their families. Howe had checked out to Asia. That song pretty much saved them. Generally not my thing, but it’s really fun to play and is certainly easier to learn than their other stuff.

Some '70s bands made a successful transition into "new wave" stylization in the '80s, some didn't. That song was the only one by Yes. I think it was because they had such a specific sound/footprint that grew out of fashion. I remember first hearing that song and not realizing it was them.

I don’t know what to say. Other than we’ll pray.
Thank you. Very kind of you. They are great people and I hate to see them go through this. He was mildly sick for about 7 days or so, then had trouble breathing and went to the VA. They transferred him to another local hospital in Indiana, just across the river. Every treatment I know of (like most really) works well early on, but has diminishing returns as time goes on.

Anyway, it was Thursday once this week...

Is it some sort of illusion or is the VP bigger than your '64? Nice colour on that P-bass

And the wintery pic you just posted is beautiful! It brings back memories of how the crisp cold air feels when it looks like that - and so quiet - love it!

I don't think I ever posted here. Although these are not made by Gibson or Epiphone, I have two 23" scale Savannah bass travel ukes non-reverse Thunderbird copies, one has a simple modification, the other much more so, painted by Pat Wilkins. I made the Thunderlele decal and had the silver one made. Next I'm going to replace the limited adjustable wood bridge and saddle with fully adjustable piezo bridges. The green has La Bella MBLS 25" flat wound, why it has a tailpiece, which will be cut down to fit. The burst will get Galli flat wound 23" when they arrive.

That’s cool. Welcome. All Thunderbirds (and even the occasional P bass) are welcome here.

More snow earlier this week. My kind of snow. Here today and off the roads the next. (More homesick fodder for @GBassNorth!)

The only thing prettier than that is an early morning sunrise after freezing rain. The trees look like Swarovski crystals, unfortunately the roads are deadly until they thaw.

P pickups on the pelvis. Say that as fast as you can three times.
...or even harder - P pickups placed in pants pockets perched on pelvis.

I love that green one on the bottom. I wish the company that made the Ukes still produced them. I think you qualify as a club member here if you aren't already enrolled. It's a great fast moving forum centered (loosely) around Thunderbird type basses. We even have a couple of uke players here, me and an Aussie, maybe more.
