Thunderbird Club

Here's the lineup for South by Cirrus Logic (Our company's lunchtime concerts during SXSW). All virtual this year, and not a Thunderbird in sight (not that this is unusual). 8^( I've gotten to meet some great musicians through Cirrus concerts (pre-Covid, of course).
The only bummer is that Lola Tried only gets a half hour since there are two bands that day. The Derailers and the Peterson Brothers are the only bands I was already familiar with, but Youtube stalking has me pretty stoked overall. Really hoping Lisa Pankratz is on drums with the Derailers.

(Captain Jack Sparrow voice: "Why are the Thunderbirds always gone?"

For some reason, the way YouTube stuff is displayed on my PC has changed. It's now a major PITA to find things I used to spend WAAY too much time watching. This is both good and bad. Now I waste...er, spend even more time on TB.

I have always been curious about Thunderbirds, but I went the Lull route.
This bass is super light at 7.6 lbs, perfectly balanced and a tone monster ;-)

Love the Lull T-Birds!
It's a shame they discontinued them...:(

Fortunately, there’s still Cataldo.

very cool... thank God for gigs! back at the Roadhouse this coming Sunday, 1 to 4....must have done something right first time around.....:wideyed:..
They aren’t happening around here unfortunately. I’ve limited myself to going to a drummers place for recording and I recently did a video shoot (look like you’re having fun while pretending to play).

Ya bummer, sorry to hear..... would be the same round here had it not been for the very mild winter we are having...

Gig(sorta-open mic/jam)tonight[3/8]. Cool-for south FL-and low humidity=Thunderbird. I haven't done one of these for awhile. Hope they haven't added a lotta new [stuff]. There'll be a "whole lotta fakin' goin' on". Good thing-for me-is I don't hafta take an amp. Last time I did this thing, I was hooked into 2 daisy-chained Rumble 100's, so 200W>2x12's. Not bad for a little outside tiki bar. And it's an early gig: 6:15 -9:00ish.:bassist:
Update: Open mic/jam went well considering it was trying to rain(semi-outdoor gig). I was the only bass player there so no breaks-'cept between tunes. 4 different, and I mean different, drummers-all good. There's a 14 y/o guitarist that plays with the nucleus band. He's pretty decent for his age although he needs to be aware that tuning the guitar at the beginning of the night isn't necessarily gonna stay that way. Not my place to say anything and the BL was on the other side of the stage and couldn't hear him that well.
Anyhoo, got to play some songs our regular(?)band doesn't do, so kinda fun.
TBird w/ EBCF 50-105's sounded great.

Sounds great. And you're getting more done musically than most people around here.

Sure, go ahead and brag about a gig and enjoying playing live. Go ahead and tell of the groupies fawning over the band too while you're at it. :D (Ever notice that if you leave a letter out of groupie it can still have the same basic meaning? Spelling would actually be incorrect.)

Sounds like fun! I look forward to taking my VP to jams. Maybe I should order up a set of the 50-105’s now.
