Thunderbird Club

I brought my VP to a jazz jam once and nobody said a word about it.
Thunderbird players have a certain reputation? You know, the sort of person it is better not to mess with?

Dude! Sideburns!
I shaved the last of my beard last summer and went with a Hulk Hogan `stache for a couple of weeks (to annoy my daughter). But once lockdowns were announced again, I stopped shaving again. I'm up to Petrucci length now. We'll see if it reaches Dusty Hill before restrictions get lifted and I decide to shave.

Tried to do little maintenance/repair on the 67 NR today. Slight crack in the headstock(where else?). Not big enuff to work on. It'll hafta get worse b4 I can get some glue-or duct tape-in/on there. Tightened up the tuner mounting screws. Wanted to make a TR adjustment. It ain't moving-been in the same position for(who knows how many) years. Oh, well. I tried, anyway.

Been growing a little hair myself the last few weeks. Started off as a full beard but it looked so awful trimmed it into a Van Dyke or circle beard. Never tried to grow a beard before for more than a few days because of the feel. This is the longest I've gone without shaving. The full was so spotty and thin I looked like a wino. We'll see how the remaining hair goes. Won't grow on the head so might as well grow it where it will. Chin, nose, ears......

Well I think I've found the strings for the '06. GHS Precision Flats of all things. If I tried them early on it was without the BBE Sonic Stomp. Used them today and the whole time I was playing I was thinking how good this finally sounded. Good with both PUs with/wo pick, neck with fingers monstrous! It sounded so good I just wanted to keep playing. The GHS's seemed to fill out a scoop and mellowed out an odd (to me) upperish mid, almost honk, out nicely. For my purposes it didn't make the bass too dark as one might think. Just luscious lows with good fullness in the mids with just enough on top to have some highs stand out when wanted with a pick. I'm so happy and relieved with how it sounds. I need to do a set up since these are 105s, but I'll be able to get some nice low action and it will play even better. Shoot, I'll even be able to slap like Chuck. Well, it'll just play better. I'm sure it's not going to work any miracles beyond that.

Thought we weren't posting any pics from the Princess Fingers Club meetings and band practice? That's not even my good side.
