Ibanez......Greco maybe. Note the knobs, not like a Gibson.

I'm trying to train mine to get me a beer.Yes! A Thunderbird will do most anything a player is capable of.
I had a '94 EpiBird 5er. The one thing I liked about the pups was that the P was 'reversed'-D and G string pup toward the neck. This one may have been modded. Can't see the HS, so no clue there.
The GBB doesn't go into much detail on Epi's.
It certainly is.
Lol! Now that we know what to expect, post something!....Thank goodness you didn't try that slappity poppitty thing on your Gibson bird. It would have sounded like mud, the neck would have dove to the floor causing the headstock to shoot off like a missle taking the strings with it as each of your three point saddles fall out. You'd be left on stage with a worthless overpriced POS and a surprised look on your face.
Oh, wait a minute, this isn't the "Let's spread some musical misinformation" thread. Forget everything said above.
The slap sounded good for slap, which I normally don't like for two reasons:
1) It doesn't fit in any of the music I play or listen to.
2) I'm a low talent hack that couldn't slap to save my life.
tweechie huh?....Dunno 'bout others. This one won't.
It doesn’t have to; but anything is better than what I have going on now. It’s pretty bad looking, but functional.I have some old case handles, but I don’t know if any would work. Does it need to look original?
I don't think that is Pete Way. I think its Paul Gray. He was Pete's replacement for a while.
Probably not the same bass but I found this:

LOL - that probably ain't gonna happen. Too much info on me in here already, the last thing I need is my mug on the webLol! Now that we know what to expect, post something!......

The only thing I do better than playing the bass is not playing the bass. Not really a T-bird player but he DOES have T-bird pickups in his craziest bass.
I mentioned Golden earring Bass player Rinus Gerritsen (Pronounced "Ree-nous Garisson") in other threads but with the recent split up of the band (because guitarist George Kooymans falling ill to ALS thus rendering him unable to do anymore shows. ending 60 years of Rock N roll history) I think it's appropriate to name him here.

Gerritsen in the early eighties playing what is without a doubt his craziest bass. So it's basically a custom body housing a Fender P-bass neck on top and a Danelectro short scale neck at the bottom.
But that's not all, he even went as far to have a large swimming pool rout underneath the pickguard of the Dano half to get that hollow body twang of a Dano.
AAAANNNND...impossible NOT to notice, it has FIVE pickups of which two are T-bird pickups, and no switches or volume controls for those five pickups. That's because Gerritsen is the kind of player who sets and forgets. He plugs the bass in, gets the tone he's familiar with and just concentrates on playing.
Anything I forgot to mention?
Yeah, he runs the bass Stereo, the Humbuckers are there to act as woofers and the lipsticks as tweeters, going into dedicated separate amps. He did that YEARS before Billy Sheehan made it his calling card.
So having explained all of that, how does this monster sound?
Mark, you and your band ought to cover this song, as it fits you guys' look and band persona perfectly.
He changes necks just around when the guitar solo begins, you actually don't see him do so but you sure hear it after he did so, that Dano-twang is unmistakable.
Well I keep hearing that it’s all about the spaces between the notes...LOL - that probably ain't gonna happen. Too much info on me in here already, the last thing I need is my mug on the web. But if it makes you feel better here's my bass playing prowess in action on the first few bars of Stairway to Heaven...
...nailed it! Probably has something to do with the fact that the bass line doesn't kick in until much later in the song. But boy oh boy, I had it note for note up until then. The only thing I do better than playing the bass is not playing the bass.

I never 'clam' on our breaks.Well I keep hearing that it’s all about the spaces between the notes...
your fellow Canadian (wonder who that may be...,) did the same thing...Rick-o-Sound stereo jack bussing the neck pickup to an SVT with 2 x 8 X 10s and the bridge pup into a Sunn 2000S into 4 X JBL 15s..... sounded glorious....Those guys had a long run!
I think I read Chris Squire used to run a stereo Ric into 2 separate SVTs. I’m going to try 2 amps when I get my Ric copy together. Hopefully I can get a heavy rock band together at some point, cause that would be fun.
He did. Those guys had a long run!

Here is a pic of the sad, bass guitar string handle I’ve been using for a while now. It definitely needs some upgrading. Who knew DR heavy gauge strings were so versatile?
