I got my first ACC amp in college. It was a 126 combo, and I still have it and use it regularly. It doesn't have the presence of a 360, but it does ok. It also managed to make a beer stein explode when I hit a specific note way back when. That's never happened again. The bass that was plugged in at the time was the free-bass, a Coral Wasp (I think).here’s mine.....

I have to be in Portland in a few weeks. Hmmm... What would I do with a Kasino? Probably leave it in Oregon would be the best option.
Congrats!!!

Don't know yet. The estimate is "about a month after deliveries start in the US"...Very nice !!! ETA ?
Drooling is my life these days.Perhaps not although arguably more of an "informed statement" than most "drummers" would have on this topic
I think the key phrase here is "folded horn" ACC, EV & CV certainly shared the "Seismic Authority" in that realm![]()
Congrats!!!![]()
I love the look of tuck 'n' roll on amps and cabinets. Especially blue and aqua sparkle tuck 'n' roll. It screams TACKY in the best possible way.Since everyone seems to be posting their first/early amps, figured I'd give staying on topic a go
This is not mine, but my fist bass amp for years was just like it (until I bought an actual "practice amp" in '98-ish). Technically, I was just borrowing from my uncle, and he eventually wanted it back for his band.....
Possibly why I still love the sound of over-powered 15s

That's a helluva act, there.I got my first ACC amp in college. It was a 126 combo, and I still have it and use it regularly. It doesn't have the presence of a 360, but it does ok. Ignore my PM asking how much
The guy in Orlando had them in red, blue, white, gold, and of course, plain black. Combos and separates. Dunno what happened to him/them.I love the look of tuck 'n' roll on amps and cabinets. Especially blue and aqua sparkle tuck 'n' roll. It screams TACKY in the best possible way.
Yep. This is the sound I like.I like 'bassy' as much as the next bass-player (especially if you are "next" bass-player) but as I grew up on the guys I mentioned (my faves out of them was Jack Bruce & Tim Bogert) I tend to favor an articulate mid-centric tone with a nice fat bottom. (...can I say that Paul?)
It's why I installed a bridge pu in my '64 T-bird II - I wanted more

My first "bass amp" was a Scott stereo receiver that looked something like this one:
I feel the same way about ACC amps. I got my current 360 for $500 about ten years ago. I think I paid something like $400 total for the 320/408 stack that I later traded for a Ric that then got sold for $1500. The Ric would probably go for over $2000 now. Prices make no sense to me.Bloody Albert. He has his Sunn stuff well into over priced territory. I picked up a 1000s head a few years back (2018? 2019?), with the big Dynaco transformer, some original Genelec KT88s, Reverb, Trem, AND the matching cab with original D15s, in equal condition, for slightly less than $1000 less than what he has that listed for. And then another two 2000s around as well, one of which was $800 for the head, and the other was $700 for the head and matching cab (though the chokes were blown and had to be replaced). The skyrocketing prices of old Sunn gear is damned annoying. Don't get me wrong, they're phenomenal amps, my favorites to play through, but the...idk, cache that has been assigned upon them by the doom community is a real pain. They aren't $2300 heads, $1500 would be reasonable. I know I got mine for good deals, but when you really break it down the heads should sit around $1500. And you can tell the people that use them don't think they're worth it because the ones priced much beyond $1500 sit there for YEARS. And the Model Ts are a whole other story, some of them have sold close to the $4k mark. I'm just glad I bought mine when they were cheaper.
Lotta 'bass' amps seem to work out well for guitar. See: early tube Bassmans. My first "bass amp" was a Scott stereo receiver that looked something like this one:

It went through a couple of Advent stereo speakers. I recall plugging into the headphone jack, but I'm not sure how that would work. Apparently it did, and nothing blew up. The receiver got stolen from my apartment in NYC in a break in in about 1983. It had survived all kinds of abuse.
My first "real" bass amp was one of these:

I got it for $100 and the free-bass was thrown in because the guy I bought the amp from wanted to get rid of it after he found it in the bathtub in an abandoned house. The amp sucked, but at least it was more or less intended as a bass amp. I sold it many years later for $100 to a guy who knew exactly what it was and wanted it for guitar. Go figure.
Yowza - that's what I need! The guy in Orlando had them in red, blue, white, gold, and of course, plain black. Combos and separates. Dunno what happened to him/them.
Here ya go!Yowza - that's what I need!

Too late. Got to the PM before the thread.Ignore my PM asking how much
@Chucky Stiletti will know better, but for the most part the power amp section would be no different between the two. Differences would be in the pre-amp.Lotta 'bass' amps seem to work out well for guitar. See: early tube Bassmans.
I'm guessing it gives a fatter tone(?).@Chucky Stiletti will know better, but for the most part the power amp section would be no different between the two. Differences would be in the pre-amp.
