Thunderbird Club

That's really cool. What's it made of?

Thanks!
It has a hollow body made of translucent white acrylic, with a composite neck that runs the length of the body.
It has EMG pickups, Gotoh tuners & bridge and an ebony fretboard.
It is internally illuminated with real neon, and the eyes on the fish are genuine glass eyes used for fish taxidermy.
She throws some serious light on a dark stage, and is a guaranteed attention grabber & conversation starter!
The battery pack that runs the neon died long ago, so I have to use a 12-volt wall wart to power the neon.
I may have to construct a new lithium-ion battery pack one of these days for full wireless freedom..

I'll ask the group here, I'm in a 3 piece Hard Rock band, and the lead player has asked me to fill in more on some of the leads (8-9). Our favorite Floridan recommended a POG, which I'm using on 5-6 (3 different settings). I would like to add some chorus or flanger as well, both to the POG and separately. The use of effects is new to me.

Do Thunderbirds respond better to one or the other? Looking at EH Electric Mistress, BF-3, MXR Chorus Deluxe and the like.

I think it is not so much do Thunderbirds take effects, but more about the amp you are using. I have noticed that various pedals work/don't work depending upon the amp.

My chorus is a flanger - the TC Thunderstorm. It sounds great and doesn't lose bottom end. Best in the effects loop (if available). I use it for Stanglehold (which I know was a phaser, but to my ear sounds better with flange).

I have not found an octave I am happy with (but nor have I been looking very hard).

:roflmao:

Years ago I considered mint, but then I saw an old Jazz like this and was hooked (though I don't like covers on one).

I liked the BOSS OC-2 which I sorta gave to one of our guitarists when I bought my EHX Micro POG. With the BOSS to get the effect of bass/guitar in octaves, I hadda play up an octave and let the box do the bottom(ahem). With the POG I play where I usually play(~7th fret down)and the box does the upper.

It's really four pedals in one, because of the Script option. But the biggest deal breaker for me was that 90 light that's always on if it's plugged in.
Yeah, still need to put some tape over that. I'd like the pedal even more, though, if it were big enough to easily switch phaser modes (45/90, script/block) with a toe without worrying about bumping the knobs.

I was lucky enuff to see the original 7 3x. And my daughter and I have gone to ~10 concerts with later line ups. There's only 3 originals left-Lee, Jimmy, and Robert-but the new blood has kept the vibe alive. May or may not see them again. Depends on their schedules and venues/prices.

Yeah, but even they were like multiple groups over time. I liked a number of songs off 2-5, but 1 (CTA) was the album I truly loved, and still love.

Yeah. I find it really odd that they put the four-in-one pedal in this tiny enclosure, yet the single-purpose ones are in more standard sizes.
