Thunderbird Club

I’m going to experiment with making a clear TRC and painting a logo on the back of it. I’ve got a couple of basses that could use something on the TRC.

Look forward to see that.

On another subject, you were right about my music room's new look and the reflection I might get on recording vocals. Took me awhile to get the EQ right during the mixing our little interpretation of Simple man and still not sure I got it right. I'll have a carpet in tomorrow and will install the acoustic panels if the carpet's not enough.

Big bad Greco fun.......... Turn it up!

V - great review!
Tells me exactly what I needed to know about Rounds on the Greco played with fingers. I'm sure playing with a pic takes it up even another notch. Now to find the best nickel Rounds for an agressive bass like this, maybe a string that really emphasizes the low mids for some serious gut punch.

That’s sweet! I wonder what the neck is like?

My favorite BC Rich neck was a Warlock I had years ago. It was a Japanese Market NJ and the body was supposedly slightly smaller than its US counterpart. The neck was as well. Not Thunderbird small, but maybe Fender B neck in width. If felt real comfortable and I'm hoping this one will be similar. I'll definitely post a report once it come in and I get it a proper setup.

Funny you should mention pick playing, I got done with that and thought, dang, I didn't use a pick for anything. I may have to do a part II for that.
Glad you guys like the vid, my hubby deserves some credit here, he's most sweet about this kind of thing with me, and afterwords we went out on a dinner date as well, he's a keeper!

with the fragility of a thunderbird neck, gig bags are usually not used by their owners. Ask around and see what others say. That all being said, if you like it, go for it.
Also, I've been using this bag for my Thunderbird for about eight years, in and out of the NYC subway system, slamming the top into low-hanging stuff more times than I'd like to remember, and neither the case nor the Thunderbird is any worse for the wear. I totally trust these things.

ok - your bass, your choice.

Love it! But when did the Scorpions cover the Kinks? That one slipped right past me.

And I must say... we sure did luck out buying our Grecos before they were well known. I wondered if I'd paid too much and it was well below what they're going for these days!

One more this I forgot to mention, I agree with your review and description 100%.

No kidding, they seem to be about $300 more at least, and a lot seem to be priced at around double what I paid for mine. Glad I got one while they were more reasonable. But that seems to be the market right now on a lot of gear, prices have steeply risen in the past couple of years, at least gear I've been looking at.

Nice, thx for posting! The styling of those Alembics just cannot get better...

Hey, I recognize that bass...

Very glad I picked up mine for the same as a new American Fender. Becvar sure knew how to make a bass.

That carpet is shagadelic.

I have the same bag and much prefer it over the hard case. My hard case feels pretty crappily made (its an offical Gibson case) and the gig bag has held up better than the case. I had to replace the case handle when it ripped out and the case popped partially open when it hit the ground. Everything was OK but when the gig bag has fallen/ been knocked over, there have been no issues. So far...

Repaired case handle....

I played the new Nonreverse today, they are not available for sale yet (the date is June 29 incidentally my bday :) ) I was impressed. Hipshot ultralight tuners, alnico V pickups. It is bassesd on the 2013 release. The faded Pelham Blue finish is beautiful looks almost like a jade green. Still waiting for the Inverness Green that I ordered.

One word: Boomers. They specialize in low mids. Massive but punchy tone.

For my purposes I found the Pure Blues pretty disappointing. I wold label them meh, uninteresting with my rigs.
