Although there are exceptions, nickel feels smother than most steel strings. But since I’m not in the Princess Fingers Club, I’m keeping Power Steels on the NR. I may put a set on the VP next change as well.

I'm in the Chicago burbs and have to agree that traveling on the L would suck with the hard case. I'm positive you are doing what works best for you. Sorry if I caused any angst, wasn't intended in that manner.

super hard to find is the only problem with BaCH
My personal preference is nickel, it has a tendency to be warmer with a bit less top end and a little less agressive on the frets. I'm sure there are exceptions but that has been my general experience, hence the search for some interesting nickel Rounds for my Greco.
Although I'm starting to get cold feet thinking about removing these TI Flats. I just wrapped up about two hours of playing along with Pandora on random songs from every genre you can imagine and with a quick right hand location adjustment it fit nearly everything perfectly.

I am eager to hear more about the new NR 'Birds. I am so very tempted to order one.I played the new Nonreverse today, they are not available for sale yet (the date is June 29 incidentally my bday) I was impressed. Hipshot ultralight tuners, alnico V pickups. It is bassesd on the 2013 release. The faded Pelham Blue finish is beautiful looks almost like a jade green. Still waiting for the Inverness Green that I ordered.

I put the Greco in mine, the Greco has a Chinabucker, as I figured the later NRs were hotter so the Greco seemed appropriate in it, but I'm thinking I'll switch the Greco pickup back into the Greco bass and get a Thunderbucker for the BaCH
If one was able to find a BaCH sometime this month, would that make it a Maybach?

It was mostly because I was using the BaCH more and I like that pickup so much. Will once we get back to gigging. The Epi is getting all the play time right now.
