Those bits of stick came in handy as a sort of pad when re-installing bridge inserts
...'til they fell apart, anyway
The Pro 5 now has nice, new bits of rubbery things under the pickups....enough that they'll push up on the strings if I had some reason to
Also, keeps them from vibrating inappropriately![]()
oh my lord, like brand new!!Not completely Thunderbird related other than my birds sound very nice through it!!! This entered into my collection this weekend. All original 1973! It came from the original owner who bought it new in 73’! A sweet find! View attachment 4280395View attachment 4280396

Yeah. He had to sell his estate in Hawaii before the divorce. Then he had to sell the ranch up by you and Chucky because of the divorce. He’s ok. Daryl Hannah took him in. I wonder how long it’ll take him to run through her money. But he’s still one of my favorites.I saw that rig parked on the Peninsula years ago while on a bike ride on Skyline Dr. 'Shakey' used to live around there - I heard he lost it all in his last divorce and now lives in SoCal. He collects buldgemobiles from the '40s mostly. I used to see him driving various ones and once he nearly hit me & a friend on a bike ride while he was stoned. (true story) I never held it against him!![]()
Meant to add that. That is a good one. And Wild Horses too.
which rubbery things do you like?
Ummm guys, could anyone provide me with the VP dimensions?

thank you, is this going to fit? [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] is it okay if the interior shape is rectangular, not bass shape? For putting under pickups?

Mine is about 50 1/2 inches (128.27cm?) Bottom to top, and about 14 1/2 inches (36.83cm?) across. Give or take a bit.
They're exactly the same a the Classic Pro, except for the headstock, which is larger on the VP.
Hope that helps![]()

They're charging about $15 more for bass shaped interior. I'm going to use it for gigging, s9 the rectangular shape isn't safe? Not sure about the particular case, not familiar with it, but if you're using it for storage or light moving, the interior should be fine.
I'd probably add some padding of some kind for the body, to keep it more stable when moving, if you were going to use it for like gigging or something.
