Thunderbird Club

I don't recall ever having the same strings on both VPs at the same time to know for sure, but I believe the burst VP is slightly more tame than the white. PUs are as close to the same height as I can get, but something makes is a tad softer in some ways. The white is just aggressive (if/when desired).
I haven't adjusted the pickups yet. That is a basement task for today. Then run it through the wireless without bass or treble cut and see what that sounds like. Upright eq is absolutely not Thunderbird eq.

When I got the '06 Gibson I started playing more than normal with a pick to bring out a little definition which that bass needs. I now play about 75% of the time with a pick on every bass. Used to be about 70% or so with fingers, but I'm liking and using a pick more and more. I think this is called pick fluidity maybe! I do think that Thunderbirds were almost made for pick playing.
I still play with a pick only rarely. It doesn't feel right to me, although that is just practice. I am lazy!

A terrible salesman. If the customer has made up their mind, just give it to them and take the money! Trying to change a customer's mind after a decision has been made is foolish - you will cement in the customer's mind (correctly) that you are an idiot and you may lose the sale.

A salesman's job is simple - find out what the customer wants and give it to them.
Alas, too often that is not their job description (or perception).

Shhhhhhh! Don't tell anyone. And if they ask, say that the headstock went flying off and nearly killed someone. We don't want a run on Thunderbirds!
 I was not expecting all those tones/sounds and how great it played, I will definitely get a 2nd one for some thick rounds (this one will have some fancy flats), so I better not spread those words, we dont want them out of stock, thanks;)

Just stick to the talking points:
One trick pony
Only good for hair metal
Headstock came off
Heavy
Neck dive

I'm still interested in the non-reverse that was announced--Pelham blue or Emerald green.

AFAIK it's due in about a month, possibly la little less. Mine shall be Inverness Green.

Pretty unusual for us in the PNW..........

We went up to Monroe Yesterday to look at a New to us 5th Wheel. Damn Seattle Traffic. Haven't been that far North for a long time. It was 104 in the shade along the River up there and Beautiful Country though. Another trip up there soon and hopefully a bit cooler.

bring it on…

Thanks for the love regarding my bass, friends!

just got back to the hotel after the gig and wanted to report that I think SIT Power Flats are kinda awesome. Punchy, even tone from string to string and a nice growl when you dig in. Between these and SIT Power Steels I’m quickly becoming a fan of SIT

Tre cool - thing is, we all gravitate to certain strings for a number of reasons. Hard to 'experiment' when you got something you like/rely/count on. I'm the same way about bicycle/motorcycle tires - Michelin all the way... :)

Doing some matte black stickers and thought I’d add a bird to my MIJ Burns NR shaped object. The upper bout has that selector switch in the way.
