maybe not as useful as intended since not everyone is familiar with Gen 2 Birds so, I took comparative pics against a 2015 J with a compound C D neck shape and the pretty standard 9.5" FB radius……not really "chunky" imho….

I was sort of wondering if they might do that, actually. After the success of these NRs having a lot of hype and selling quickly, I could see them adding some of these colors and/or others to the Reverse line.

Its hard to know how many GC actually received. And Sweetwater only received a couple so far, and one of the Burgandy ones arrived broken. They haven't received any Pelham Blues. It does seem like they can sell all that they can make and they're certainly one of the most anticipated bass releases from Gibson in a long time.
I like the Peavey. Don't think I ever played one of these, but I had a Peavey 215 I used for years. I loved how it sounded with my MK III or IV.

You make a good point. Damn, what a shame about that one to Sweetwater! I agree, I don't remember seeing such a hype about a Gibson bass ever since I started playing. For the record, I am 27 and started playing when I was 15, so if there was some mega-hyped Gibson prior to 2009 I wouldn't really know!

It's funny you mention the LPB2. I had one of those for a while (I think it was that one, with bartolinis), albeit a 4 string, and from what I recall that neck was not too far off of this! Still, I believe this is a bit more rounded, but it's been a while since I had that thing. You're lucky to own one, very cool basses!

Thanks so much! I'm glad you like it! I hope that day DOES come for you, whatever color you choose. These are very killer. Not tooting my own horn whatsoever, but Gibson should have really included some shots like mine in their promo pics! I definitely feel like the Burgundy got the least amount of attention, and looks way darker or murkier or dare I say blander in their pictures.
