Thunderbird Club

Not mixed, flavored. From what I understand of the process, instead of adding sugar to feed the yeast, they add honey. Pretty damn good!
I understand, "mixed" was not meant in the technical sense, but is likely what some ol boys in the hills would say about such things. "Fruit and all kinds of fancy fixin's in shine? What's the world comin' to. Them city types will be sippin' it out of cute little fancy glasses no doubt."

I like honey! It makes everything better. Even bacon!

Thank you. Do you know if I'll have to redrill any new holes? It's the end of the world if I have to, I'm curious though.

No re-drilling to mount that Hipshot.

In speaking with my rep at Sweetwater they are definitely not rushing them out the door so to speak. The wait time for Pelham or Inverness is only slightly shorter by a week or two.
Unsurprising. Global supply chain is a mess, and Gibson is likely running less workers and lines.

When I was building custom cabs, we offered a 215 with the same drivers as this new Mesa 215. Our cab was very popular amongst a certain crowd of players. I will say, I like the form factor of the Mesa a bit more. Ours was tall, wide and shallow, whereas the Mesa is short, narrow and deep. It’s a much bigger sounding cab than its size would suggest. The Faital 15PR400 is like the very best vintage 15 you ever heard ‘back in the day,’ but handles way more power and extends lower AND higher. It’s a remarkable speaker. My DIY ‘1822’ cab uses a very similar Faital 18” speaker with two 2” mid drivers in a sealed cab and it’s my favorite cab I’ve ever made. I sold like 5 or 6 of em. The combo of an 18” driver in a sealed enclosure brought up too many preconceived notions so I could barely give em away. Too bad. That had so much punch and great off axis dispersion. Oh well! For now, if you want that classic vintage vibe but with massively improved power handling and frequency range, the Mesa SW215 is very tough to beat. The Berg NV412 is also seriously underrated if you don’t mind the schlep :)

Haha! Naw, just tons of blue light and a fog machine :)
Got any 1822s left?

Plenty of time for @dagrev to get out and hustle lawn jobs, wash cars, collect recyclables, babysit and get a paper route (do those still exist).
Paper routes are thinner but still out there. Generally handled by someone with an auto, though.
We know lots of teens (mostly gals) who babysit, and several who mow lawns.

When my kids got their driver's licenses, they both ended up getting jobs at our local Walmart, 2 miles from the house. Flexible hours and great pay. Pushing carts and restocking shelves with returns for 12/hr. to start.

I wonder if my youngest will end up at Wally-world too on his way to bigger and better things.

latest news from sweetwater... the batch due 8/11/21, never showed up.... next eta was 9/3/21, never showed up... now possibly next year...

My embassy bass from 3/21 may have an eta of october or november...
Hard to like this. Sorry for you man. Chicago Music Exchane is estimating 01/18/2022. Haggerty's Music Exchange on Reverb 01/17/2022. There's one in Switzland that a shop is asking $2850 for plus $434.08 shipping. Musician's Friend's website say they have PB and Sparkling Burgandy "in stock and ready to Ship." I'd be careful with them; they could be from a GC floor. Maybe call right now and find out.

I was able to add the burgundy to the list and keep my place in line, I'll take what I can get. Maybe I'll get both.

I have plenty of time to save up...

The NRs were released with essentially no publicity yet the demand is certainly there. They're using wonderful Hipshot Ultra-lights. I know from recent personal experience that Hipshot was having issues with materials. And as Ken found, Thunderbucker Ranch was having issues getting magnets. Couple this with the increase in demand for guitars, basses and other instruments, I think waiting will be the norm for some time. If you want something new that is in demand, get a pre-order in. Then wait.
