Not sure what neck you’re using, but I just bought these for my MIJ NR copy. The are lighter than the small post Hipshot clovers presently on the bass. Bought them here:

Wow! Oval is pretty close to lollipop and even if I ordered an extra tuner the gold ones only come up to about $50 Canadian. Haven’t checked the exchange rate or shipping but at first glance that sounds a whole lot cheaper than $125 for Hipshots.
Thanks for the lead, I’ll look into that option once the neck arrives and I can confirm the hole sizes.

Hey guys, I just got a motorcycle accident few hours ago. The doctor said I need a few weeks to be able to put weight on my shoulders. Got a swollen knee and shoulder, few bruises and stitches. Anyone have any experience with swollen shoulder before? As soon as I've got home, I played my guitar and my shoulder not feel right. Should play on a charity event this Saturday. My option is either playing while sit or cancel the event.

Yikes! So sorry to hear that. I've had a swollen knee, ankle, and wrist among others, but not shoulder (that I can recall). I got a broken clavicle in a bike wreck. That sucked pretty big time. But listen to your doc! I'd play sitting, assuming I could do everything else I needed to do, or had someone t help do those things (get & position amp, carry bass, etc.) Praying for miraculously quick healing!

Sorry to hear about your accident. I guess the fact that you’re able to post means it could have been worseo_O

I think you should see how you feel tomorrow. You may be running on adrenaline and not feeling the full effects of your injuries.

Just have a seat and play your event. I recently saw a band with the guitar player sitting because of a bad knee. It didn't diminish the performance one iota.

I bought a bunch of pickguard material and needed to add to the order to get free shipping.
They feel pretty solid, but I’ll get them installed this weekend and post a short report.

I would sit and do the gig, but then I played collision sports like American football and rugby for almost 20 years and might not be the best person to ask.

Getting tired of waiting for Eppi to release a NR, so the heck with it. I’m just gonna do a parts bass build with the goal of going full bling but keeping it under $1000. Body is on order (had to go reverse, no NR bodies to be found), neck is on order. In the spirit of full bling ideally it will have all gold hardware. If I can source a two piece bridge, lightweight lollipops and gold pup covers at reasonable prices I’ll be in good shape. The $1000 challenge is the hard part. If all goes well it will be a sister bass to my blonde tiger stripe SG Supreme…

This is going to be good! :hyper:

Thank you for your suggestions guys. I think I'll see if I can make it to rehearse in Friday before make a decision. What makes me not so optimistic is the venue is on my neighbor city, it's 61KM from my place (37-ish miles). Yep, it could be much much worse. The only concern is stitches on my face :wacky:
Scars and a Thunderbird? You are going to be in demand!

Sorry to hear that. Drs aren't always right (being human, but do have more experience), so I would seriously consider resting it. You can do more damage and not even know it. The only way I would consider it is if there were ZERO discomfort of any kind.

You have my sympathies. I have been through my own set of orthopaedic issues the last couple of years.

I would recommend following your doctor's instructions. He/she has the most experience.

But what do I know - I'm just some stranger on the internet with an opinion.
That means this information is certainly correct.

Look on the bright side, you didn't have your Thunderbird with you. Right? Hope you have a speedy recovery!

I assume you mean the Gibson 5 string? Because the Epi Pro Vs pop up fairly regularly, or still did as a month or three ago (last time I was looking to see what was around).
When I look on reverb I see two epi V listings which is less than any other model listing except maybe the Nikki Sixx epi. It could just be because I live in Australia though where gear can sometimes be hard to come across. :crying:
