Robert Cray tribute rehearsals coming along nicely....not easy...this one is like five songs wrapped in one....
The great thing buying from L&M, for used, 30 days no question returns and if it is broken, they will repair. Those pop up cheap around here once in awhile. There's usually a reason. Usually blown speakers.
That LP is beautiful!Well, there's news on my instruments to be told.
Today I traded in some surplus gear and made myself the owner of this Eighties Reject bass. And the first thing I did was to paint on my band's name. As it is the intention to use it very much with that said band.

Korean made plywood monster, the previous owner actually installed a second tone knob but I'm going to rewire it so it has the normal two volumes one master tone set up.
But this week also saw me place in an order for a guitar I wanted back again, since I used the original one with my old Metal Band Slavantas as this year sees the 15'th anniversary of the founding of that band.
View attachment 4428219I pretty much wrote all the band's songs using that Epiphone Les Paul. It died when its neck split after somebody knocked it over.
Turns out that the current version of the Epiphone Les Paul Custom is way cooler than the guitar I owned at the time.

Because current Epiphone Les Paul Customs have Mahogany construction and ebony fingerboards whereas the Koran made Epi I owned was made from Alder and had a rosewood fingerboard.
And hey, it's a White Les Paul custom, it's Steve Jones, Randy Rhoads, James Dean Bradfield, Lars Frederiksen...
From the description, it sounds like the case is the current $130 Epi case.I'm glad it's not black. I don't have one of those. Don't know what kind of "case," but that's a deal assuming in person there is little wear and no issues.
Miles, that's about as good as it gets, depending on condition. I'd never sell mine for that.
And just who sells these wonderful basses? Must be someone who fights the ergos for some reason.....
I know, I'm really looking forward to retrieving it once it arrives. That LP is beautiful!
There is no longer a disturbance in the Force. All is right again.
Great. There's another 2k I'll have to start stashing away somehow.I hear rumblings at Gibson. there could very well be 60's spec birds on the way in 2022.
I'm don't know enough to know. Something changed after MXR was bought by Dunlop in '84, that's why the true MXRs are more desirable...at least by those who've had one and notice the difference. Other phasers do some cool stuff, but they don't sound the same and lack some of that old magic. I've got a TC Helix which is crazy adjustable, but it won't sound like an old phase 90--and I've tried. Cool phaser with many stage phasing, but..... Even the new Phase 95 which has the 90 and 45 (2 stage setting) didn't sound like the old 90--was a great phaser but lacked something. I used the 95 and kept thinking, where's my sound I'm used to hearing. Just wasn't there. Seemed to lack sparkle and depth.did they go digital? wth?! thing is, it looks identical..
Shipping is going to be twice that unless he ships it next door. Another reason it's good deal.Particularly with a case and white becoming harder to find. Wonder how seller thinks it can be shipped for $60.
Good luck with that. Those things breed like rabbits.Quick, buy up every three point bridge on the market so Gibby will be forced to use a two point!![]()
Congrats again! That really is striking. You'll love how nice it is to play. It’s here, and it just sings through that amp. Beautiful finish, plays well right out of the box, and it has “that sound.” That’s the sound I remember from when I played a Thunderbird from ‘77-‘81.

Yup. Best way I can describe the Whirlwind is gooey. It's great. The "new" phaser that seems to sound like the old 90 is the Whirlwind "Orange Box" which is run by Scott's bro-in-law and was with MXR at the beginning, so he ought to know the secret sauce.
A Vintage Pro in a case is going to be about $180 or so. Poor seller is gonna freak when they go to ship it.Shipping is going to be twice that unless he ships it next door. Another reason it's good deal.
Given the response to the VP, I would hope so.I hear rumblings at Gibson. there could very well be 60's spec birds on the way in 2022.
If I were getting an NR (I’m not planning on it), that would be the color I’d want. It’s here, and it just sings through that amp. Beautiful finish, plays well right out of the box, and it has “that sound.” That’s the sound I remember from when I played a Thunderbird from ‘77-‘81.

How close is the Whirlwind? I like the M95 but love the original MXR sound.I'm don't know enough to know. The MXR kind of set the standard, though others were around. Van Halen and other songs that used a phaser were most often the 90 (a 4 stage phaser, small stones are two stage if I recall correctly). The early scrip versions were 2 stage as well, but were really subtle. I'm not much into effects, but that pedal I love. The only thing I don't like is there is a slight volume boost, which is common. With the Helix you can adjust that with some phaser sounds.
The "new" phaser that seems to sound like the old 90 is the Whirlwind "Orange Box" which is run by Scott's bro-in-law and was with MXR at the beginning, so he ought to know the secret sauce.
